Elias Diaz C | TEX
Padres' Elias Diaz: On bench Tuesday
Diaz is not in the Padres' lineup against the Athletics on Tuesday.
Since Diaz's last day off April 2, he has gone 2-for-13 with two walks in four games. The two hits came in the same game Saturday as he went hitless in the other three. Martin Maldonado is the starting catcher Tuesday and is batting ninth.

Jackson Merrill CF | SD
Padres' Jackson Merrill: Held out of lineup again
Merill (hamstring) is not in the Padres' lineup against the Athletics on Tuesday.
Merill will miss his second straight game as he continues tending to his hamstring. This comes as an expected precaution, but if he misses any more games it would exceed the original timeline for his absence. Like Monday, Brandon Lockridge has the start in center field.

Jake Fraley RF | TB
Reds' Jake Fraley: Good to go Tuesday
Fraley (side) is starting in right field and batting eighth Tuesday against the Giants.
The 29-year-old was scratched from Monday's starting nine due to left side pain but is back in the lineup for Tuesday's contest. Fraley has yet to get on track at the plate this season and has gone 4-for-27 with one double through eight games.

Garrett Mitchell CF | MIL
Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Getting rest against lefty
Mitchell isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Colorado.
The Brewers will keep the lefty-hitting Mitchell and his career .687 OPS against southpaws on the bench with Kyle Freeland set to start on the mound for the Rockies. Isaac Collins, Sal Frelick and Jackson Chourio will start across the outfield while Mitchell rests.

Michael Busch 1B | CHC
Cubs' Michael Busch: Sitting versus lefty
Busch is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
Southpaw Patrick Corbin will take the mound Tuesday for Texas, so Busch will head to the bench after going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's series opener. Justin Turner will start at first base and bat cleanup in his place.

Nestor Cortes SP | PHI
Brewers' Nestor Cortes: Receives injection
Manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Cortes has received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his left elbow, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Cortes' injection will work to help his elbow recover from the strain that forced him to the injured list Sunday, but it will likely prevent him from throwing for a few days. He'll remain without a return timeline until he's cleared to begin a throwing program.

Will Benson RF | CIN
Reds' Will Benson: Joining big-league club
The Reds recalled Benson from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old missed out on Cincinnati's Opening Day roster but will join the active roster with Carson Spiers being demoted and Matt McLain (hamstring) heading to the injured list. Benson had a .650 OPS in 128 games last season and will likely operate as a reserve outfielder.
