Mlodzinski (1-3) took the loss Friday as the Pirates fell 10-7 to the Guardians, coughing up five runs on nine hits and two walks over four-plus innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

Four of the hits off the 26-year-old righty went for extra bases, including a Bo Naylor solo shot in the third inning -- the first long ball Mlodzinski has served up in four big-league starts this season. While he's been able to keep the ball in the park, not much else has gone right for Mlodzinski, who carries a 7.41 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 14:8 K:BB through 17 innings. With Bubba Chandler dominating at Triple-A (1.69 ERA, 18:5 K:BB over 10.2 innings), Mlodzinski's time in the rotation could be drawing short. He'll look to rebound in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week against the Angels.

Durbin went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

This was Durbin's major-league debut, and he batted ninth while starting at third base. The 25-year-old prospect has a chance to get a long look at the hot corner given the Brewers' lack of other viable options there. At Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2024, he logged 29 steals on 32 attempts while slashing .287/.396/.471 over 82 games. Durbin should be able to carve out some fantasy value in NL-only leagues at a minimum if he can be steady at the plate and swift on the basepaths during his first stint in the majors.

Yelich went 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBI in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Yelich had a pair of RBI singles and also plated a third run with a groundout in the seventh inning, which ended up being the deciding run of the game. This was his second multi-hit effort in a row, and he's gone 11-for-43 (.256) with four walks and 10 strikeouts over his last 11 contests. The 33-year-old is clawing his way out of an early slump, and is now slashing .194/.299/.388 with four home runs, three stolen bases, 13 RBI and eight runs scored over 19 games this season.

Turang went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and three runs scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Turang bounced back from an 0-for-4 effort Wednesday versus the Tigers, which was just his second hitless effort of the year. The speedy second baseman has swiped three bags over his last five games. He's up to a .313/.349/.438 slash line with five steals, three home runs, 10 RBI and 20 runs scored over 20 contests as the Brewers' main leadoff hitter.

Megill recorded the final two outs to earn the save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Bryan Hudson began the ninth inning but allowed three of the first four batters to reach base. Megill allowed an inherited runner to score on a sacrifice fly before inducing a groundout from Shea Langeliers to end the threat. This was Megill's second save in three chances this season, though his last opportunity ended in disaster when he blew a save versus the Diamondbacks last Saturday. Megill is now at a 4.26 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB over 6.1 innings this season. He has a loose grip on the closer job for the Brewers, in large part due to an ongoing issue with his knee.

Schmitt suffered a left oblique strain while hitting in the batting cage before Friday's game against the Angels, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Schmitt was a late scratch from the lineup Friday due to an issue in his left side, and it now seems like the 26-year-old is destined to spend time on the injured list following his diagnosis. Brett Wisely and Marco Luciano are the most likely candidates to fill in as infield depth for San Francisco while Schmitt is sidelined.

Darvish (elbow) is expected to throw a higher-intensity bullpen session this weekend, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Though Darvish has been throwing off the bullpen mound recently, Acee compared those sessions to "glorified games of catch" due to their low intensity. However, the veteran hurler is expected to throw at closer to full intensity this weekend, which should give San Diego a better indication of how far away he is from a return. Acee suggests that Darvish will likely need at least three or four bullpen sessions before he's able to face live hitters and adds that the right-hander probably won't be ready to pitch in big-league games until late May or early June.

Peralta (2-1) allowed seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Athletics.

Peralta has allowed no more than two runs in any of his five starts so far this season. He threw 55 of 93 pitches for strikes in this contest and came away with his second, both of which have come over the last three starts. He's now at a 1.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB across 28.1 innings. Peralta's next start is expected to be on the road versus the Giants.

Cronenworth (ribs) took groundballs, worked on change of direction, played catch and took dry swings Friday, and he's optimistic that he can return ahead of his initial 4-to-6 week return timeframe, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cronenworth landed on the IL on April 11 due to a non-displaced right rib fracture. Though such an injury typically takes 4-to-6 weeks to heal, it's possible that the veteran infielder could return before the fracture totally heals, and Padres manager Mike Shildt suggested Friday that such a scenario would be dependent on Cronenworth's pain tolerance. While he hopes to be back in the Padres' lineup in less than four weeks, Cronenworth also noted that there is uncertainty about his ability to do so, explaining, "It's hard to say, because it's like, I don't know what's gonna have an adverse reaction yet ... we're kind of going until that happens. ... It's like, let's just keep progressing as we're progressing, and see where it ends."

Edman went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 3-0 win over the Rangers.

Edman took Jacob deGrom deep on the second pitch of the game, giving the Dodgers all the offense they needed in the win. Edman has gone 11-for-29 (.379) over his last eight games, with five of his hits in that span going for extra bases. He got a look at leadoff Friday, but that is likely to be a temporary arrangement while Shohei Ohtani is on the paternity list. Edman has hit well all season, slashing .288/.326/.600 with seven homers, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored and a stolen base over 21 contests as the Dodgers' primary second baseman.
