Vientos was removed in the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Cardinals due to groin discomfort, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Vientos went 0-for-2 before being replaced by Brett Baty in the fifth frame. The severity of Vientos' injury isn't clear, but he'll undergo more testing and an update should be made by the team during or shortly after the conclusion of Saturday's contest.

Heyward (knee) is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Astros on Saturday.

Heyward was scratched from Friday's game due to left knee soreness, and the issue has persisted enough to keep him out of Saturday's lineup. Oscar Gonzalez, Connor Joe and Fernando Tatis will man the outfield for San Diego.

Soroka (biceps) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Soroka has been out of action since late March due to a right biceps strain. He resumed his throwing program in a simulated game Wednesday, and barring any setbacks from his session Saturday, the 27-year-old right-hander should embark on a rehab assignment next week.

Bogaerts is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Astros on Saturday.

Bogaerts will start Saturday's game in the dugout after going 3-for-21 with one run scored and five strikeouts over his last six outings. Jose Iglesias and Tyler Wade will start at shortstop and second base, respectively, against Astros right-hander Hayden Wesneski.

Holderman (knee) will start his rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Holderman was placed on the 15-day injured list April 6 due to a right knee sprain. He was able to progress enough in his recovery to throw live batting practice, and he'll take the next step in his program by embarking on a rehab assignment. Holderman posted a 9.64 ERA and 2.14 WHIP across 4.2 innings before going on the IL.

The Giants transferred Encarnacion (hand) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Encarnacion continues to progress in his recovery from a procedure in March to repair a fracture in his left hand. His movement to the 60-day injured list means that he won't be eligible to rejoin the Giants until May 25, and a clearer timeline for his return will be known once he resumes baseball activities.

The Giants placed Schmitt (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to April 18.

Schmitt was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Angels due to side tightness that he experienced when hitting in the batting cage before the game. Further tests revealed a left oblique strain, and he won't be eligible to be activated off the IL until April 29, though how he responds to treatment over the next few days will determine a more accurate timeline for his return. The Giants selected David Villar's contract from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

The Pirates placed Mayza on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a left shoulder lat muscle strain, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Mayza may have picked up the injury in his last outing Friday against the Guardians, when he gave up two hits while striking out one over 1.2 frames. He will be eligible to return from the IL in early May, though how he responds to treatment over the next few days should determine the length of his rehab program. David Bednar was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move.

Conine exited Saturday's game against the Phillies due to a left shoulder injury, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.

Conine suffered the injury while sliding into second base on a two-run double and appeared to be in serious pain. He'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, but if he's out for an extended period of time, Dane Myers and Javier Sanoja would be in line to see more playing time in the outfield.

Lopez had his three-game suspension reduced to two games Saturday following his appeal to MLB, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Lopez was ejected from Wednesday's game against the Pirates after inciting a bench-clearing brawl when he threw near Andrew McCutchen's head in the seventh inning. Lopez was initially handed a three-game suspension by MLB, but he was able to reduce that to two games, meaning he'll be available out of the Nationals' bullpen for the second leg of Sunday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
