Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Giants.

Diaz extended San Diego's lead to 2-0 in the third inning with a homer off Landen Roupp, his second this season. Following a rough 1-for-20 stretch, Diaz has now recorded back-to-back two-hit games, boosting his slash line to .214/.313/.339 with five RBI and eight runs scored across 65 plate appearances this year.

Hernandez went 3-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 12-7 win over the Marlins.

Hernandez is up to four stolen bases this season, putting him on pace to challenge his career high of 12 set last year. The 32-year-old outfielder also extended his hit streak to nine games -- he's gone 17-for-40 (.425) with four home runs and 15 RBI in that span. Hernandez is now slashing .310/.325/.621 with nine home runs, 32 RBI and 19 runs scored across 121 plate appearances to open the campaign.

Freeman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 12-7 victory over the Marlins.

Freeman extended the Dodgers' lead to 8-3 in the sixth inning with a 406-foot blast of Jesus Tinoco, his fifth homer of the year. The 35-year-old Freeman has been locked in at the plate, going 10-for-21 (.476) in his last six games. His slash line is up to .319/.407/.638 through 81 plate appearances this season with 17 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Diaz allowed five runs on four hits and one walk over one inning in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. He also hit a batter in a 6-0 loss.

Diaz entered the top of the ninth with the Reds trailing, 1-0, and a mission of keeping the game close to force St. Louis to expend its closer in the bottom of the frame. After an inning-opening hit batsman, the reliever got two outs before matters spiraled in the form of a single and three consecutive home runs. Diaz now has a 12.00 ERA over six innings (six outings) and has been rocked in two of his last three appearances.

Stephenson (oblique) went 0-for-3 with two walks and a run scored for Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.

Stephenson started at catcher and caught nine innings for the third time this week, including back-to-back days Tuesday and Wednesday. He's expected to make at least one more start during the Bats' doubleheader Thursday before the Reds make a decision regarding his activation, MLB.com reports. Stephenson is up to 28 plate appearances while on his rehab assignment.

Tawa batted leadoff and went 0-for-5 in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Mets.

Tawa typically occupies the ninth spot in the order against pitchers of either hand. Against lefties, Corbin Carroll is dropped to second and Geraldo Perdomo leads off, but Perdomo was getting a rest day Wednesday, prompting Tawa's promotion. Once Ketel Marte (hamstring) returns from the 10-day injured list, he'll be the default leadoff batter against southpaws. Tawa is batting .182 (10-for-55) with a .728 OPS (six extra-base hits) over 18 games.

Ginkel walked one and struck out one over one-third of an inning in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Mets.

Ginkel, who returned from a season-opening stint on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, wasn't eased into the fray. He entered with a runner on second and two outs in the seventh inning. He walked the first batter faced before stranding both runners. Ginkel should pitch in similar high-leverage situations going forward and could earn some save opportunities pending an evaluation of closer Justin Martinez, who's experienced a significant drop in velocity since resting a shoulder issue.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said that Martinez is scheduled to get imaging on his right shoulder after displaying diminished velocity during his relief appearance in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Mets, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. "We're still trying to sift through it ourselves," Lovullo said of Martinez. "We just wanted to get the feeling from him as to how he's doing. It's clear that the velo is down and the stuff is not the same. We're still evaluating."

Martinez entered the game in the bottom of the ninth with the Diamondbacks up 4-1, but he was removed after 14 pitches (just five strikes). He failed to record an out in the win, as he allowed a leadoff home run and then walked the next two batters before Ryan Thompson stepped in to put out the fire and clinch the save. According to Gilbert, Martinez first experienced some shoulder fatigue coming out of his previous appearance Sunday, but he wasn't sent in for imaging despite his two-seamer being about three ticks down from his season average. His velocity then dropped down a few more ticks Wednesday to 93.5 miles per hour, and that decline coupled with the rough performance has left the Diamondbacks more open to the idea that he'll require a stint on the injured list. The Diamondbacks will wait for Martinez to be evaluated before making any decisions on his status.

Kershaw (toe/knee) tossed five innings in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters.

Kershaw was originally scheduled to make this start Tuesday, but inclement weather pushed his appearance back a day. The veteran lefty got through four scoreless frames before wilting a bit in the fifth, when he gave up two homers and all three of his runs. Despite the late fade, this was another promising outing for Kershaw, as he got up to 66 pitches and five innings (his first two rehab starts went three frames apiece). Kershaw is clearly making progress toward a return to the big-league club, but he's not eligible to be activated off the injured list until May 17, so he figures to make at least a couple more starts in the minors over the next two weeks.

Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an additional run scored in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.

It was the first home run since April 15 for Realmuto, who has now reached base safely in 14 of his last 15 games. During this stretch, the veteran backstop has still gone a relatively quiet 14-for-58 (.241) with two homers, three doubles, five RBI and seven runs scored. On the bright side, Realmuto has already doubled his steals output from 99 contests in the 2024 regular season with four stolen bases in just 26 outings this year.
