  • Sean Sullivan SP | COL

Rockies' Sean Sullivan: Ready to go for Double-A club

Double-A Hartford activated Sullivan (hip) on Tuesday, and he's listed as the team's scheduled starter for Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday with Binghamton.

Sullivan is ready to make his 2025 debut for the Double-A club after he was delayed to begin the season while completing his recovery from hip surgery. He was cleared to join Hartford after making two rehab starts between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and Single-A Fresno. He built up to four innings in his most recent outing last Thursday in the California League, striking out two while allowing no runs on three hits and no walks.

  • Giants' Mike Yastrzemski: On bench in series finale

Yastrzemski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Yastrzemski's streak of seven consecutive starts will come to an end Wednesday while the Giants stock up on some extra right-handed bats to counter Diamondbacks southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez. Luis Matos will fill in for Yastrzemski in right field, and left fielder Heliot Ramos will replace Yastrzemski as the Giants' leadoff batter.

  • Giants' Patrick Bailey: Out of lineup Wednesday

Bailey is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Bailey caught both of the first two games of the series, so he'll get a breather for Wednesday's afternoon tilt. Sam Huff will start behind the dish and bat seventh for the Giants.

  • Tobias Myers RP | NYM

Brewers' Tobias Myers: Back in big leagues

The Brewers recalled Myers from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Myers was just optioned Sunday but is eligible to be recalled because he's taking the active roster spot of an injured player in lefty Jose Quintana (shoulder), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. The right-hander is likely to slide into Quintana's rotation slot this weekend against the Twins. Myers holds a 3.86 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 11:10 K:BB across 16.1 innings covering five starts with the Brewers this season.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Brewers' Jose Quintana: Goes on IL with shoulder injury

The Brewers placed Quintana on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left shoulder impingement.

Quintana experienced soreness in his pitching shoulder after his last start. While the Brewers had seemed optimistic about Quintana's ability to start this weekend on a few extra days of rest, the club has ultimately decided to put the southpaw on the IL. Quintana will be eligible for activation May 26, but it's unclear whether he'll be ready on that date. Tobias Myers has been recalled and will likely take Quintana's spot in the rotation.

  • Sem Robberse SP | STL

Cardinals' Sem Robberse: Needs Tommy John surgery

Robberse is set to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Robberse missed time during the second half of last season with an elbow injury and recent imaging showed that he needs to have the elbow surgically repaired. Given the timing of the procedure, he will likely be sidelined until around midseason next year. Robberse holds a 4.96 ERA and 139:59 K:BB over 134.1 innings at the Triple-A level.

  • Braves' Ronald Acuna: Heading for Gwinnett

Acuna (knee) will have his rehab assignment moved to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday, David O'Brien of the Athletic reports.

After playing just six innings for Atlanta's Florida Complex League affiliate Tuesday in the first game of his rehab stint, Acuna will be jumped straight to the top level of the minors for his second. It's a strong sign the 27-year-old outfielder may not require the full 20 days before he's ready to be activated from the IL for his season debut, but so far Atlanta has been very deliberate with the superstar's recovery from June 2024 ACL surgery. A timeline for his return may not come into focus until Acuna is able to play back-to-back nine-inning games without issue.

  • Braves' Drake Baldwin: Playing time on upswing

Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Baldwin will start behind the plate Thursday against the Nationals and could see more playing time moving forward, David O'Brien of the Athletic reports.

In his most recent start in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Washington, Baldwin went 3-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season. Sean Murphy will get the nod behind the plate Wednesday, but as long as he's contributing with his bat, the rookie backstop should continue to see an equal share of the workload against right-handed pitching, although he has yet to get a start against a lefty. Through his first 25 big-league games, Baldwin is slashing .329/.382/.557 with a 6:13 BB:K.

  • Wade Meckler LF | LAA

Giants' Wade Meckler: Missing in action

Meckler has not played for Triple-A Sacramento since March 29.

He was placed on the 7-day injured list March 30, and then there was an erroneous transaction note on his MiLB page saying he was activated April 3, but he's still tending to the undisclosed injury six weeks after suffering it. Meckler went 3-for-6 with two walks, two steals and zero strikeouts in two games before getting hurt.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Sitting out afternoon game

Moreno is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in San Francisco.

Moreno caught both of the first two games of the series but will get a breather for Wednesday's afternoon contest. Jose Herrera will do the catching and bat ninth for the Diamondbacks.
