Rockies' Aaron Schunk: Activated from IL
The Rockies reinstated Schunk (groin) from the injured list Friday.
Schunk went 4-for-14 with a homer and two RBI in four games at Triple-A Albuquerque while working his way back from a groin strain he suffered in late April. The 27-year-old had been starting regularly at shortstop for Colorado before getting hurt, but he's now likely to come off the bench more often with Ezequiel Tovar (hip) also off the injured list.

Diamondbacks' Christian Montes De Oca: Promoted to majors
The Diamondbacks selected Montes De Oca's contract from Triple-A Reno on Friday.
Montes De Oca has been brought in to bolster the Diamondbacks' bullpen after Joe Mantiply was optioned to Triple-A following Wednesday's game against the Giants. Montes De Oca started the year in Triple-A, and across 12 outings he has posted a 2.37 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB across 19 innings. He will have the opportunity to make his major-league debut during the Diamondbacks' weekend series against the Rockies.

Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Returns from IL
The Rockies reinstated Freeman (oblique) from the injured list Friday.
Freeman has been sidelined for the past month by a left oblique strain, but he's been given the green light to return to Colorado after going 2-for-12 with two walks during a four-game rehab assignment. Now healthy, Freeman will likely slide in as bench depth for the Rockies.

Rockies' Carson Palmquist: Officially called up from Triple-A
The Rockies selected Palmquist's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
Palmquist started the season in Triple-A, but with Ryan Feltner (back) still on the injured list, the 24-year-old southpaw is slated to make his major-league debut against Arizona on Friday, per Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post. Palmquist has a 2-2 record across seven starts in Triple-A this season with a 3.82 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 45:18 K:BB across 35.1 innings.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Back in Friday's lineup
Marte (hip) is starting at second base and batting in the leadoff spot against the Rockies on Friday.
Marte was lifted from Wednesday's win against the Giants due to stiffness in his hip, but the 31-year-old second baseman has been cleared to play in Friday's series opener. Marte is slashing .262/.377/.554 with five home runs and eight RBI over 77 plate appearances this season.

Heyward isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.
After starting the month of May 3-for-26, Heyward will give way to Brandon Lockridge in left field for the third time in San Diego's last four games.

Garcia is not in the Nationals' starting lineup against the Orioles on Friday.
Garcia was activated from the Nationals' paternity list Friday, but he'll begin the game in the dugout while Nasim Nunez starts at second base and bats ninth. Garcia has gone 7-for-38 with two steals, one home run and five RBI since the beginning of May.

Mervis is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rays.
Mervis started the previous four games but will sit Friday after going 1-for-9 with a walk and three strikeouts during that stretch. Eric Wagaman will take over at first base for the series opener versus Tampa Bay.

Brewers' Elvis Peguero: Demoted to Nashville
The Brewers optioned Peguero to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
With Rob Zastryzny coming over from the Yankees to bolster the Brewers' bullpen, Peguero will end up as the odd man out without a roster spot. The 28-year-old has given up four earned runs in just 7.1 innings this season, but he could be called upon later in the year if Milwaukee needs to add a fresh arm.
