Yates (hamstring) threw off a bullpen mound Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

For the first time since landing on the injured list May 18 due to a right hamstring strain, Yates was able to throw off a mound. Per Ardaya, the veteran reliever said Friday that he hasn't felt any discomfort in the hamstring since a few days after initially getting hurt and indicated that he is optimistic he isn't going to miss much more time. Yates is eligible to be activated Monday, and he could be back with the Dodgers around that date if he comes out of Friday's session with any setbacks.

Vesia allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 8-5 win over the Yankees.

Vesia got the save chance after Tanner Scott defused a two-on, two-out situation in the eighth inning. Both pitchers struggled in their last outings Wednesday versus the Guardians, and it's at least intriguing that Vesia was called upon to handle the top of the Yankees' order, which he did successfully after pitching around Trent Grisham's leadoff single. Vesia has allowed four runs in May, all via home runs, over 10.1 innings. He's at two saves, 10 holds, a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB through 25 innings. With Scott blowing three saves over his last five appearances, Vesia looks to be the early candidate to take over the ninth inning should manager Dave Roberts officially make a change at closer. Even if that happens, it could lead to a committee scenario, especially once Kirby Yates (hamstring) and Michael Kopech (shoulder) are ready to return.

Gonsolin (3-1) allowed five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win Friday over the Yankees.

Gonsolin served up four home runs in this outing, but he was fortunate that three of them were solo shots. After a positive start to the season, Gonsolin has allowed at least four runs while walking at least three batters in each of his last three outings. He's now at a 5.23 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB across 31 innings through six starts. The right-hander's next outing is projected to be at home versus the Mets.

Betts said Friday that he has a fractured toe on his left foot but expects to miss just "a couple of days," Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Betts underwent X-rays Friday and sat out the first game of a weekend set against the Yankees due to the toe injury. The imaging appears to have revealed a fracture, but the severity may be minor, given Betts' indication that he could be back in the lineup shortly. Betts told Hernandez that the injury happened when he banged the toe against a wall while walking to the bathroom in the dark, and the star shortstop described the consequence of the fracture as "just pain." Manager Dave Roberts commented after Friday's win over New York that he doesn't expect Betts to require a stint on the injured list, and while Roberts indicated that Betts isn't likely to return to the starting lineup for either of the final two games of the series, he could be available to pinch hit, per Sonja Chen of MLB.com.

Kelly allowed six runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the Nationals on Friday.

Kelly allowed two runs in the first inning and then gave up two home runs in the third. Despite the struggles, he didn't get an early hook, though this was just the third time in 12 starts he's been limited to five innings or fewer. The right-hander now has a 3.78 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 64:18 K:BB through 69 innings this season. Kelly's next start is projected to be in Atlanta, which offers moderate bounce-back potential, though he is sporting a 4.59 ERA over 33.1 innings on the road this season.

Dollander (forearm) threw live batting practice Tuesday at Wrigley Field, MLB.com reports.

Dollander performed well during the session and came away without any setbacks, according to interim manager Warren Schaeffer. There's no clear timeline for Dollander's return to action, though it's positive that he was able to resume throwing only eight days into his stint on the injured list.

Bell went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's 9-7 win over the Diamondbacks.

After failing to record a multi-hit effort in any of his first 45 games this season, Bell has gone 7-for-14 with three homers and seven RBI over the last three contests. The 32-year-old put the Nationals ahead briefly in the third inning with his blast Friday. He's up to nine homers, 22 RBI, 18 runs scored and a .181/.277/.361 slash line. He's added just one double and one triple this season after recording at least 20 doubles in each of the previous seven full-length campaigns, so he still has work to do in the power department, though that should come naturally if he can continue hitting at a higher level.

Finnegan allowed one run, hit one batter and didn't surrender a hit or a walk over one inning to earn the save in Friday's 9-7 win over the Diamondbacks.

Finnegan plunked Corbin Carroll, who stole second and then finished his trip around the bases on consecutive groundouts. Finnegan appears to be recovered from the shoulder fatigue that kept him out of game action for a week. He's allowed three runs (one earned) over his last three innings. For the season, the Nationals' closer has a 2.61 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB while converting 16 of 19 save opportunities over 20.2 innings.

Feltner didn't make his scheduled rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday after his back tightened up, MLB.com reports.

Feltner was supposed to begin his rehab assignment this week, but he is now considered day-to-day. He hasn't pitched in game action since April 28, so he'll likely need several rehab appearances before being activated.

Irvin (5-1) allowed six runs on 10 hits and a walk while failing to record a strikeout over five innings, earning the win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Arizona scored four times in the first inning and twice more in the third, but Washington's offense provided plenty of support. Irvin has won three starts in a row despite matching his season high in runs allowed in this outing. He's maintained a 3.93 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 47:20 K:BB across 73.1 innings across 12 starts in 2025. The right-hander is lined up to make his next start at home versus the Cubs.
