Nelson could rejoin the rotation if Corbin Burnes (elbow) isn't able to make his next start, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Burnes was removed from Sunday's 3-1 win over the Nationals due to elbow discomfort and will undergo an MRI on Monday. If Burnes needs to miss time, the Diamondbacks have a quality replacement on hand in Nelson, who had been filling in for Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) before moving to the bullpen Friday in anticipation of Rodriguez's return from the injured list this week. Over his last eight appearances, Nelson has delivered a 1.72 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB across 31.1 innings.

Mena (1-0) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two over two scoreless innings to earn the win over the Nationals on Sunday.

Mena, a starter at Triple-A Reno, was called up Sunday and earned his first MLB win. His length was needed immediately when starter Corbin Burnes (elbow) left the game after 4.2 innings. If Burnes, who will undergo in MRI on Monday, misses any starts, Ryne Nelson is the logical replacement; however, Mena could also be an option. In two relief outings for the Diamondbacks in 2025, Mena has allowed one hit and walked two while striking out seven over 5.2 scoreless frames. As a starter at Reno, Mena owns a 4.84 ERA with 52 strikeouts and 16 walks over nine outings (44.2 innings).

Freeman went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Mets.

Freeman has primarily served in a small-side platoon role, with Sunday marking only his second start against a righty since being activated from the injured list May 17. He delivered with the opportunity, tallying his first home run of the season in the fifth inning. Freeman also swiped his fourth bag of the campaign, and he could be a decent source of steals if his playing time picks up.

Arcia went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Mets.

Arcia made his second start with the Rockies since signing with the team Monday. He delivered his home run to start the third inning. Arcia hasn't yet moved into a full-time role with Colorado, but if he's able to build on Sunday's performance, he could gain some traction in the everyday lineup quickly.

Triple-A Sacramento placed Bericoto on its 7-day injured list May 9 due to an unspecified injury.

Though he's been out of action at Triple-A for more than three weeks, Bericoto should return to action with Sacramento before long. He began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 22 and has gone 11-for-23 with seven extra-base hits and a stolen base through his first six games.

Meckler (undisclosed) has gone 3-for-14 with a 5:4 BB:K and two runs in four games since being reinstated from Triple-A Sacramento's 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Meckler was out of action at Triple-A for nearly two months before being cleared to rejoin the Giants' Pacific Coast League affiliate after a three-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The 25-year-old possesses a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster, but a return to the big leagues doesn't appear to be imminent.

Edman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Yankees.

Edman found a groove against the Yankees' pitching during this weekend series, going 6-for-12 with a homer, three RBI and three doubles over three games. The 30-year-old hadn't hit a long ball since April 22 versus the Cubs, which was before his stint on the injured list due to an ankle issue. Edman is now at a .247/.287/.487 slash line with nine homers, 29 RBI, 26 runs scored and two stolen bases over 42 contests this season.

Yamamoto (6-4) allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over 3.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Yankees.

Yamamoto failed to complete five innings for the first time this season. He was inefficient, throwing 96 pitches (59 strikes). Yamamoto has looked like one of the best pitchers in the majors this season, but he came up short in a measuring stick matchup against one of the best offenses in baseball. He still has a 2.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 77:23 K:BB across 67.2 innings through 12 starts. Yamamoto's next start is projected to be on the road versus the Cardinals.

Triple-A Sacramento placed Winn on its 7-day injured list April 22 due to an unspecified injury.

Winn didn't pitch after late June in 2024 after undergoing an ulnar nerve transposition procedure on his right elbow, but he was given a clean bill of health heading into spring training. After falling short in his bid for a spot in the Giants' Opening Day rotation, Winn was optioned to Sacramento, with whom he posted a 5.91 ERA over three starts before being shut down. He's now missed nearly six weeks with the injury and has yet to begin a rehab assignment.

White (finger) struck out three and allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk over two innings in his start Friday with High-A Beloit.

White was out of commission for three weeks due to a left index finger injury, but he was cleared to slot back into the Beloit rotation Friday, albeit on a limited workload. Through seven starts at High-A this season, the 20-year-old southpaw owns a 3.33 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 40:17 K:BB over 27 innings.
