Moniak is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Since signing with the Rockies shortly before Opening Day, Moniak has been deployed primarily as a strong-side platoon outfielder, but his grasp on a regular spot in the lineup versus righties appears to be slipping. For the second day in a row, Moniak finds himself on the bench against a righty (Max Meyer), while Tyler Freeman picks up another start in right field at Moniak's expense. Moniak owns a woeful .213/.252/.394 slash line in 135 plate appearances versus righties this season, so the Rockies' decision to scale back his playing time doesn't come as a major surprise.

Beck is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Beck will get his first day off since April 20, ending a streak of 39 consecutive starts. The 24-year-old had been serving as the Rockies' leadoff hitter since mid-May, but he could be at risk of moving down in the order if he's unable to break out of his ongoing slump after getting Monday off. Over his last five starts, Beck has gone 1-for-19 with one walk and six strikeouts.

Farmer is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

After Michael Toglia was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, Farmer initially looked to be the next man up at first base, but the Rockies instead appear content to keep the 34-year-old in a utility role. Farmer will be on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-hander while recent call-up Keston Hiura garners another start at first base.

Hilliard will start in left field and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Marlins.

After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Hilliard sat out against lefty David Petersen in the Rockies' series opener with the Mets, but he started versus right-handers in the final two contests of the weekend and will remain in the lineup again against righty Max Meyer as Colorado opens its series in Miami. Hilliard has gone 3-for-7 with a solo home run and a walk since his call-up, and while he's swinging a hot bat, he looks like he'll get the chance to play regularly for a Rockies squad that's desperate for impact bats.

The Pirates designated Rainey for assignment Monday.

Rainey will lose his spot on the roster after he was knocked around for four runs while recording just one out in his final appearance with the Pirates on Sunday in San Diego. He seems likely to clear waivers.

The Pirates claimed Simon off waivers from the Marlins on Monday.

Simon has slashed .234/.327/.277 in 56 plate appearances in the majors this season but offers defensive versatility with the ability to play all over the infield and also the corner outfield spots. Tanner Rainey was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Wheeler won't make a start for the Phillies during their three-game trip in Toronto to begin the week and is expected to remain in Philadelphia while he awaits the birth of his child, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Philadelphia had previously confirmed Wheeler as its starter for Tuesday's series opener, but with his wife expected to give birth any day now, he'll be away from the team while he welcomes a new child into the world. The Phillies will go with Cristopher Sanchez, Mick Abel and Jesus Luzardo as their three starters in Toronto, but Wheeler could meet back up with the team in Pittsburgh and take the hill as soon as Friday's series opener versus the Pirates.

Sanchez is scheduled to start Tuesday's series opener against the Blue Jays in Toronto, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Sanchez was initially slated to take the hill for the second game of the series Wednesday, but he'll be pushed up a day in the schedule with ace Zack Wheeler skipping the trip to Toronto and remaining in Philadelphia while he awaits the birth of his child. As a result of the change, Sanchez now lines up for two starts this week, with his second turn set to come Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Snell (shoulder) could resume throwing off a mound early next week in San Diego, Dodgersbeat reports.

Snell hasn't thrown from the bump since he experienced a setback with his left shoulder in late April, but he's made enough recent strides with his flat-ground work that he's almost ready to try things from a mound again. A timetable for Snell's return to the Dodgers' rotation could become clearer in the coming weeks if he's able to throw off a mound without any hiccups.

Double-A Columbus placed Fuentes on its 7-day injured list Tuesday due to a blister on his pitching hand, Harrison Smajovits of SI.com reports.

Despite developing the blister during his May 24 start, Fuentes was effective in his final outing before landing on the shelf, striking out a season-high nine batters and allowing just one hit over four innings. Since moving up from High-A Rome in late April, Fuentes owns a 4.98 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB over 21.2 innings with Columbus.
