Williams (head) has gone 5-for-11 with two home runs, three doubles, three walks, four RBI and four runs in three starts since rejoining the Double-A Binghamton lineup Sunday.

He was hit on the helmet by a fastball Friday, but Williams missed just one game before returning to action Sunday and delivered his first career two-homer performance Wednesday. The 21-year-old shortstop has exhibited no ill effects since his return and is slashing .288/.397/.497 with six home runs and 17 stolen bases over 209 plate appearances on the season. A promotion to Triple-A Syracuse may not be too far down the road for Williams.

Yastrzemski went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a double in Wednesday's 10-7 win over the Rockies.

Yastrzemski tied the game at 6-6 in the eighth inning with a two-run double to center field, then added an RBI single in the ninth to drive in San Francisco's final run. With that, the 34-year-old notched his first multi-hit performance since May 20. After going hitless in his first six appearances of June, Yastrzemski has now logged at least one hit in three straight games. During that span, he's slashing .444/.400/.667 with seven RBI, two doubles and a run scored across 10 plate appearances.

Cruz went 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and a stolen base Wednesday against the Marlins.

Cruz provided an offensive spark early in the game, singling to lead off the first inning before stealing second base. He then reached base on a walk with one out in the fifth inning and was driven in on a three-run home run by Andrew McCutchen. Cruz appeared in eight games during Pittsburgh's homestand and hit .241 with three RBI, four runs scored and four stolen bases. He now has swiped 24 bags on the season, good for second in the league.

The Reds optioned La Sorsa to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

La Sorsa was just recalled Tuesday and was knocked around for four runs over one inning in Wednesday's loss to the Guardians. The Reds have not announced a corresponding move, but it's likely that Brent Suter will return from the bereavement list prior to Friday's contest in Detroit.

Torrens is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Torrens had started behind the plate in three of the Mets' last four contests, but his opportunities are expected to take a hit moving forward with Francisco Alvarez (personal) making his return from the paternity list Thursday. Alvarez will be thrown right back into the lineup for the series finale versus Washington, starting at catcher and batting ninth.

Young is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Young is hitting just .174 over 11 games since getting called up from Triple-A Syracuse on May 24, though three of his four hits have gone for extra bases. Even so, the Mets don't appear motivated to deploy the left-handed-hitting Young in the strong side of a platoon at designated hitter. Young will hit the bench Thursday for the third time in five matchups against a right-handed starting pitcher (Mike Soroka) while the Mets go with Starling Marte at DH.

Mauricio is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Mauricio will take a seat after he had made starts in each of the last five games -- three at third base, one at shortstop and one at designated hitter -- while going 5-for-16 with a home run, a double, two walks, two stolen bases and three additional runs. Though he doesn't have a direct path to an everyday role at any one position, Mauricio's ability to fit in at three infield spots or at DH will allow the Mets to find him at least semi-regular at-bats so long as he remains productive at the plate.

Harris went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Brewers.

The center fielder opened the scoring for Atlanta by depositing a second-inning Chad Patrick cutter in the second deck in right field. Harris is showing faint signs of life at the plate, hitting safely in six of the last seven games while batting .286 (8-for-28) with two of his five homers on the season, but he still carries a career-worst .607 OPS on the season.

Verlander (pectoral) threw 65 pitches in a simulated game at Coors Field on Wednesday and could rejoin the Giants during their series against the Guardians which begins Tuesday, per MLB.com.

Verlander is seemingly nearing a return to game action after being placed on the 15-day injured list May 22 due to a right pec strain. The veteran right-hander has thrown two simulated games, the first which came last Friday, during which he threw 35-40 pitches at Oracle Park. Before landing on the shelf, Verlander posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 41:21 K:BB across 52 innings this season, going 0-3 across 10 starts.

The Mets activated Alvarez (personal) from the paternity list Thursday.

Alvarez was away from the club for two days while welcoming a new baby. He's back in the lineup for the series finale against the Nationals on Thursday, starting at catcher and batting ninth.
