Lile is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

After he was withheld from the lineup for Sunday's 3-2 loss while lefty Ranger Suarez started fro the Phillies, the lefty-hitting Lile now finds himself on the bench against a righty (Cam Schlittler) for the series opener in New York. Lile has supplied an .818 OPS thus far during August, so despite the two straight absences from the lineup, he doesn't yet appear to be at major risk of losing hold of a regular starting role.

Alvarez (thumb) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Wednesday or Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

At the time Alvarez was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 19 due to a UCL sprain in his right thumb, he appeared to be at risk of missing the rest of the regular season, but the 23-year-old has seemingly been able to manage the discomfort in his hand better than anticipated just over a week after sustaining the injury. He's been able to take batting practice over the last few days and doesn't appear to have suffered any setbacks in his hitting progression, putting him on track to report to an affiliate around the middle of the week. Alvarez could remain on assignment through the weekend but may be ready for activation when the Mets' active roster expands to 28 men Sept. 1. He's still expected to require surgery at some point during the offseason to address the thumb injury, but with a projected recovery timeline of eight weeks, Alvarez should be back to full health ahead of spring training.

Castellanos is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Castellanos got off to a rough start to August, but his bat began to heat back up over the past week, with the 33-year-old going 9-for-24 with a solo home run, two doubles, two walks and seven runs over his past six starts. The Phillies will still send Castellanos to the bench for the second time in five games, with Harrison Bader entering the lineup in center field and getting flanked by Brandon Marsh in left and Max Kepler in right.

McCarthy is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Milwaukee.

McCarthy had started in each of the previous two contests but will take a seat for the series opener against the Brewers. Lourdes Gurriel will cover left field and Adrian Del Castillo will serve as the Diamondbacks' designated hitter Monday.

Herrera is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.

Herrera had started every game since the last contest of the first half, but he will receive a well-earned break as the Cardinals open up a series versus the Pirates. The 25-year-old's absence from the lineup comes after he posted a meager .437 OPS across his last 17 contests. Willson Contreras will serve as the team's designated hitter Monday.

Winn (knee) will start at shortstop and bat second in Monday's game versus the Pirates.

Winn missed Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Rays and underwent an MRI earlier Monday while he manages nagging soreness in his left knee. The imaging revealed improvement in the condition of the knee from a previous MRI, according to Katie Woo of The Athletic, and Winn will continue to manage the issue on a day-to-day basis based on pain tolerance.

The Cardinals recalled Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Graceffo has put up a 5.81 ERA and 26:7 K:BB across 31 innings in the majors this season. The right-hander will give manager Oliver Marmol a fresh bullpen arm for the start of a series against the Pirates that begins Monday.

The Cardinals optioned Granillo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Granillo struggled in his most recent stint with the big club, yielding seven runs with a 7:5 K:BB over 7.1 innings. He'll cede his spot in the bullpen to Gordon Graceffo, who was recalled from Triple-A.

Megill (elbow) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The Mets had left open the possibility that Megill would return from the 60-day injured list and rejoin their rotation Friday against the Marlins, but they've elected to give the right-hander one more rehab start in order to extend his pitch count to around 80. Working his way back from a sprained UCL in his right elbow, Megill has been superb in three rehab outings between Syracuse and Double-A Binghamton, spinning 10 scoreless frames with a 17:2 K:BB.

Weathers (lat) is expected to make a three-inning rehab start Saturday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

If all goes well Saturday, Weathers is expected to make another start in the minors after that before returning from the 60-day injured list and slotting back into the Miami rotation before the middle of September. Weathers has been on the shelf since early June due to a strained left lat. The southpaw has been limited to just five starts for the Marlins this season but has collected a 3.28 ERA and 23:8 K:BB across 24.2 innings.
