Dollander (2-9) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.2 innings in a 6-5 loss against the Astros. He struck out one.

The right-hander was undone by a five-run third inning capped by a Victor Caratini grand slam. Dollander entered the league as a highly regarded prospect in part due to his electric fastball, which averages 97.6 mph, but he's struggled to turn that into consistent results, posting just a 6.9 K/9 and 4.0 BB/9. Through 14 starts, the rookie owns a 6.65 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 65 innings.

Palencia picked up the save in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Guardians. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out two over a perfect inning.

Palencia quietly set the Guardians down in order Tuesday to notch his ninth save of the season. The right-hander has emerged as the Cubs' most dependable closing option this season, posting a 1.80 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB across 30 innings in 28 appearances. Backed by a 99.5 mph fastball and sharper command than in years past, Palencia has delivered a standout first half.

Boyd (8-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings against the Guardians. He struck out five.

Boyd kept the Guardians' offense in check Tuesday, spinning seven strong innings to earn his second consecutive win and third victory in his past four starts. The veteran left-hander has put together an impressive 2025 campaign, posting a 2.65 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 98.2 innings across 17 starts. While he doesn't overpower hitters (averaging 93.1 mph on his fastball), Boyd has found success by commanding the zone and effectively mixing his changeup and slider to minimize hard contact and deliver consistent outings.

Holmes didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Angels, allowing three hits and three walks in six scoreless innings. He struck out 10.

Holmes racked up double-digit strikeouts for the second time in his last four starts, generating a remarkable 27 whiffs in the process. The right-hander has managed to fan at least nine in four of his last seven outings, turning in two scoreless appearances during this span. Holmes has been a strong fantasy contributor with a 3.04 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 87:28 K:BB over his last 12 starts (68 frames), and his next assignment is slated for this weekend at home versus the Orioles.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Ohtani went yard in the fourth inning, collecting his 30th homer of the season in the process. The slugger has turned the power back on lately, swatting five homers with 11 RBI over his last eight games. For the season, he's produced a .287/.387/.637 slash line with 55 RBI, 83 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 12 doubles and seven triples across 84 games.

Yamamoto (8-6) allowed a run on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings to earn the win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

Yamamoto has taken advantage of a pair of favorable matchups, allowing a total of one run on four hits and two walks over 12 innings combined against the Rockies and White Sox. The right-hander should be gaining some confidence from these outings after a shaky stretch against tougher opponents earlier in June. Yamamoto has a 2.51 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 109:32 K:BB through 96.2 innings over 17 starts this season.

Adames went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Adames opened the scoring in the second inning with his 10th homer of the year. The shortstop has hit half of those long balls in his last 20 games, going 19-for-69 (.275) in that span. On the year, he has a .211/.297/.348 slash line with 37 RBI, 46 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple and four stolen bases across 85 contests.

Birdsong (3-3) allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks while striking out six over four innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Birdsong has failed to complete five innings in four of his last five outings. He's also walked four or more batters in three of those starts, and he hasn't pitched well enough to limit the damage when his control is off. He's fortunate to have just two losses in that stretch, but he's looking a bit outmatched as a starter at this point in the year. Birdsong has a 4.30 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 62:28 K:BB through 60.2 innings across 19 appearances (eight starts) overall, but his ERA as a starter is at a less pleasant 5.54 through 37.1 frames. He is tentatively projected for a road start versus the Athletics this weekend.

McCann went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Giants.

McCann's first homer of the year was the Diamondbacks' last run in this contest. The catcher is 4-for-8 with two extra-base hits, two RBI, three walks and four runs scored over three contests since signing a major-league deal with Arizona on June 23. He's seen a little less time than Jose Herrera behind the dish, but both have been steady at the plate, so the playing time is unlikely to change much.

Grichuk went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Giants.

Grichuk didn't homer at all in June, going just 9-for-50 (.180) over 17 games. The outfielder ended that power drought with a solo shot to pad the Diamondbacks' lead in the sixth inning of this contest. For the year, he's batting .246 with a .721 OPS, four homers, 16 RBI, 21 runs scored, 11 doubles and one triple across 146 plate appearances. Grichuk has been pressed into some extra playing time recently while Arizona's primary designated hitter, Pavin Smith, has had to cover for Josh Naylor (undisclosed) at first base. Once Naylor is healthy again, Grichuk will likely return to a short-side platoon role, as Jake McCarthy has stepped up in right field in the absence of Corbin Carroll (wrist).
