  • Rockies' Bradley Blalock: Demoted to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Blalock to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Blalock surrendered 19 earned runs -- including five long balls -- in his past three starts and will now make his way back to Triple-A. The right-hander has failed to impress across 47 major-league innings this season with an 8.62 ERA and 1.79 WHIP.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Sitting after three straight starts

Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Rojas will take a seat after he had started at second base in each of the last three games while going 2-for-9 with a walk. Though Rojas will give up his spot in the infield to Buddy Kennedy on Sunday, the Dodgers should have regular starts available for both Rojas and Alex Freeland at second and third base until one of Tommy Edman (ankle), Hyeseong Kim (shoulder) or Max Muncy (oblique) returns from the injured list.

  • Luis Peralta RP | CHC

Rockies' Luis Peralta: Up with big club

The Rockies recalled Peralta from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

The left-hander opened the season with the Rockies and had a 7.56 ERA in nine appearances before being demoted April 20. Peralta is now back in the majors despite posting an even worse 9.09 ERA over 34.2 innings at Triple-A.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Sitting in fourth straight

Flores is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The right-handed-hitting Flores will hit the bench for a fourth straight game, with the Giants having faced right-handed pitchers in each of those contests. He appears to have faded into the short side of a platoon with the left-handed-hitting Dominic Smith, who has started in all four games.

  • Drew Gilbert CF | SF

Giants' Drew Gilbert: Back in lineup Sunday

Gilbert will start in right field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rays.

The left-handed-hitting Gilbert didn't start against right-handed pitchers in either of the first two contests of the series, but he'll be back in the lineup Sunday as the Rays send righty Logan Webb to the bump. Since getting called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Aug. 8, Gilbert has gone 1-for-18 with a stolen base and a 0:5 BB:K.

  • Roddery Munoz RP | HOU

Cardinals' Roddery Munoz: Sent to Triple-A

The Cardinals optioned Munoz to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Munoz will lose his place on the active roster after giving up three earned runs on two hits and three walks over 1.1 innings of relief in Saturday's 12-8 loss to the Yankees. Anthony Veneziano was called up from Triple-A to round out St. Louis' bullpen.

  • Cardinals' Anthony Veneziano: Joins big club

The Cardinals recalled Veneziano from Triple-A Memphis on Sunday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander was sent to Memphis after being claimed off waivers by the Cardinals in early August, and he'll now receive a look in the majors. Veneziano made 24 appearances with the Marlins earlier this season and had a 4.71 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB over 21 innings.

  • Kyle Karros 3B | COL

Rockies' Kyle Karros: Receiving first day off

Karros is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

For the first time since he was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Aug. 8, Karros will receive a day off. The 23-year-old has kicked off his big-league career in impressive fashion, slashing .290/.389/.387 with three doubles, a 5:6 BB:K, three RBI and seven runs in nine games. Orlando Arcia will cover third base Sunday in his stead.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Stepping out of lineup

Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Goodman will get a breather after he started at catcher in each of the first three games of the series while going 3-for-10 with a solo home run, a double, two walks and an additional run. Braxton Fulford will handle catching duties for the Rockies in the series finale.

  • Casey Kelly SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Casey Kelly: Sent to Triple-A

The Diamondbacks optioned Kelly to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Kelly was recalled from Triple-A on Wednesday but didn't make any appearances out of the bullpen in the Diamondbacks' ensuing four games. He'll be swapped off the 26-man active roster for right-hander Nabil Crismatt, who was recalled from Reno to start Sunday's game against the Rockies in Colorado.
