  • Jorge Polanco DH | NYM

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Homers twice Saturday

Polanco went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Polanco hit solo shots in the fourth and fifth innings before tacking on an RBI single in the eighth. Hitting in Chicago has agreed with the second baseman -- he has three long balls over two games versus the White Sox, giving him nine on the year. He's added a .209/.293/.340 slash line, 24 RBI, 24 runs scored, two stolen bases and five doubles over 273 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Gregory Santos: Allows run in return

Santos (knee) allowed a run on two hits and a hit batsman and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning in Saturday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

As expected, Santos was available to pitch after sustaining a minor right knee injury Wednesday. He was once again shaky, putting three of the five batters he faced on base. Santos was charged with a run after Andres Munoz allowed one of them to score on a wild pitch. Through 4.2 innings this season, Santos has a 4:1 K:BB but has allowed four runs while adding a hold, a blown save and a loss across five appearances. He'll likely continue to see high-leverage work, but the Mariners' trade for Yimi Garcia further complicates the path for Santos to get a share of saves.

  • Andres Munoz RP | SEA

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Grabs four-out save

Munoz struck out two and did not allow a hit, walk or run over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Munoz allowed a runner he inherited from Gregory Santos to score on a wild pitch in the eighth inning. In the ninth, Munoz was sharp to finish off his 17th save of the campaign. This was the second outing in a row in which he allowed an inherited runner to score, but he has not been charged with a run over his last 9.1 innings despite a modest 8:5 K:BB in that span. For the season, Munoz has a 1.31 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB through 41.1 innings.

  • Seth Lugo SP | KC

Royals' Seth Lugo: Surrenders six runs to Cubs

Lugo (12-5) took the loss against the Cubs on Saturday, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 6.1 innings.

Lugo fell behind 2-0 on a Seiya Suzuki homer in the first inning but carried a 4-3 lead into the seventh. However, the veteran right-hander allowed Chicago's first three batters to reach base in that frame, and they all came around to score on a Patrick Wisdom grand slam following Lugo's departure. The six earned runs were a season-high mark for Lugo, who had pitched his first career complete game in his previous start. Saturday's poor outing pushed Lugo's season ERA up from 2.38 to 2.66.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Swipes two bags in win

Springer went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.

Springer singled in the sixth inning and then stole second and third base for his first two-steal game of the season. He went 0-for-10 in a tough series against Tampa Bay but has three home runs and three steals in eight games since the All-Star break. While the 34-year-old's .227 average is still disappointing, he's hitting .272 in July and has 13 homers and 12 stolen bases across 402 plate appearances on the year.

  • Joe Ryan SP | MIN

Twins' Joe Ryan: Fans eight in tough loss

Ryan (6-7) allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over six innings Saturday, taking the loss versus the Tigers.

Ryan took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning but couldn't hold it as he allowed the go-ahead runs to score and ended up being tagged with the loss. Ryan has allowed three or more runs in four straight starts, but despite the low win total, he continues to make up for it with solid strikeout numbers. The 28-year-old has five or more strikeouts in nine straight starts, and his 138 punchouts this season are tied for ninth most in MLB.

  • Daulton Varsho CF | HOU

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: Homer, four RBI in win

Varsho went 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.

Varsho hit a three-run homer in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly in the eighth. He entered the game just 4-for-22 since the All-Star break, and the home run was his first since June 16. On the season, the 28-year-old is hitting .201 with 12 home runs, 43 RBI, 48 runs scored and nine steals across 356 plate appearances.

  • Royce Lewis 1B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Smacks 11th home run

Lewis went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's loss to the Tigers.

Lewis was reinstated from the injured list Friday, and it took him six at-bats to hit another long ball. He now has 11 home runs in 26 games this season and 26 homers in 84 games dating back to last season. The 25-year-old's struggles staying on the field are well documented, but when he's active, he's a must-start. Lewis has homered every 12 at-bats over the last two seasons, which only trails Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani in that span among players with a minimum of 200 at-bats.

  • Dean Kremer SP | MIN

Orioles' Dean Kremer: Logs quality start in loss

Kremer (4-7) took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts over six innings.

Kremer yielded four runs but three were the result of two-out errors. He was able to reach a season-high 105 pitches and logged his first quality start since May 5. On the year, the 28-year-old owns a 4.20 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 73:29 K:BB across 75 innings and lines up for a road matchup with the Guardians next week.

  • Matt Vierling CF | DET

Tigers' Matt Vierling: Swipes two bags in win

Vierling went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two stolen bases and a walk in Saturday's win over the Twins.

Vierling reached base three times in Saturday's win, and for the first time in his career, he stole multiple bases in a single game. The steals were Vierling's first of the season, and the three runs tied a season high. The 27-year-old has 13 home runs, 42 RBI, 51 runs scored and a .744 OPS through 94 games this season.
