  • Twins' Dean Kremer: Falls apart in sixth inning

Kremer took a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out six. It was smooth sailing for Kremer on Sunday until the sixth inning, when the Phillies plated four runs to spoil his otherwise strong outing prior to that point. The right-hander has been a solid addition to Minnesota's rotation since coming over at the trade deadline, delivering a 3.12 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB over his first 17.1 innings for the Twins. Kremer is set to carry a season 5.40 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB across 53.1 frames into a tough road matchup in San Diego.

  • Twins' Dean Kremer: Dominates former team in win

Kremer (2-4) earned the win against the Orioles on Monday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk in seven innings. He struck out seven. Facing the team that traded him away a bit over a week ago, Kremer looked very comfortable on the mound against his former Baltimore teammates. The right-hander poured in 60 of his 89 offerings for strikes, putting together his longest outing of the year in his first quality start since July 1 versus the White Sox. Kremer has conceded just a pair of runs in his first 12 innings for the Twins, and he'll try to further improve his 5.25 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 47:14 K:BB over 48 frames in 2026 this weekend against Philadelphia.

  • Twins' Dean Kremer: Encouraging team debut

Kremer didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Kansas City, allowing one run on three hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out two. Making his Twins debut Wednesday, Kremer got off on the right foot and provided the club with five strong innings. It was a much-needed bounce-back performance as well from the right-hander, who was blasted for 20 runs over his prior 19 innings with the Orioles before being shipped to Minnesota. Kremer, who still has work to do in order to enhance his 5.93 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB across 41 frames, is lined up to get an opportunity against his former Baltimore teammates in his next start.

  • Twins' Dean Kremer: Making team debut Wednesday

Kremer is slated to make his Twins debut with a start Wednesday in Kansas City, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Kremer will be taking the hill on six days' rest after making his final appearance for the Orioles on July 28 before he was dealt to the Twins on Saturday in exchange for minor-league outfielder Jhomnardo Reyes. The right-hander went 1-4 with a 6.50 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 36 innings over seven starts for the Orioles this season, but he turned in a career-best 17.6 K-BB rate and was the victim of an unsustainably high 26.7 percent HR/FB rate, up 14.4 percentage points from his career-long rate.

  • Twins' Dean Kremer: Traded to Minnesota

The Orioles traded Kremer to the Twins on Friday in exchange for minor-league outfielder Jhomnardo Reyes, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports. Kremer has been lit up in his last two starts, coughing up 14 earned runs in just 10 innings to raise his ERA to 6.50 through 36 frames (seven starts). Now in Minnesota, he figures to claim a spot in the Twins' rotation but could be at risk of moving to the bullpen if his performance doesn't improve.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Fans five in Friday's start

Kremer picked up a no-decision after going four innings against Houston on Friday, allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five. Kremer completed his shortest start of the 2026 season after going just four innings on 83 pitches against the Astros. It was only the 30-year-old's third start back from the 60-day injured list after he missed extended time due to a right quad strain. Through five starts this season, Kremer now holds a 4.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB in 26 innings. The right-hander is projected to make his next start Wednesday against Boston.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Can't keep ball in yard Wednesday

Kremer (1-2) took the loss Wednesday as the Orioles fell 9-7 to the Cubs, giving up four runs -- all on solo home runs -- on six total hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out four. Pete Crow-Armstrong took Kremer deep twice, while Michael Conforto and Carson Kelly also went back-to-back in the fifth inning. Kremer left the mound after 92 pitches (55 strikes), and while his 24:9 K:B through 22 innings on the season is encouraging, the right-hander has also served up nine homers in his four big-league starts, leading to a 4.09 ERA despite a 1.00 WHIP. However, as long as he can stay healthy, Kremer seems locked into a rotation spot on the other side of the All-Star break, barring some major trade acquisitions by the O's.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Sharp in second rehab start

Kremer (quadriceps) made his second rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, giving up two hits and one walk in 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out eight. The 30-year-old right-hander fired 50 of his 79 pitches for strikes. Kremer, who's recovering from a multi-month absence with a right quadriceps strain, appears firmly on track to rejoin the Orioles at some point in early July, which will likely force Trey Gibson from Baltimore's rotation.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Completes 66-pitch rehab start

Kremer (quadriceps) struck out five and allowed one earned run on two hits and and two walks in 3.2 innings during his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Norfolk. Though he was making his first game appearance since landing on the 60-day injured list April 18, Kremer handled a fairly hefty workload right off the bat. He tossed 66 pitches (38 strikes) in the outing, inducing 12 swings and misses along the way. The right-hander may need just one more rehab start to continue building up his pitch count before potentially rejoining the Baltimore rotation in the first week of July.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Progressing in recovery

Kremer (quadriceps) threw a live bullpen session earlier in the week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Orioles manager Craig Albernaz noted Friday that Kremer has been progressing well in his recovery from a right quadriceps strain that landed the right-hander on the 15-day injured list in late April. He was transferred to the 60-day IL last Friday, and depending on when he embarks on a rehab assignment, Kremer could be back with the big club in mid-to-late June. Prior to his injury, Kremer had a 4.09 ERA and 0.91 WHIP across 11 innings.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Starts up throwing program

Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said Monday that Kremer (quadriceps) has begun a throwing program, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports. While Albernaz noted that Kremer's strained right quad hasn't fully healed, the right-hander is "trending in the right direction" and has made enough progress in his recovery to at least start playing catch again. Kremer will gradually stretch out his throwing distance off flat ground before graduating to pitching off a mound. A clearer target date for Kremer's return from the 15-day injured list won't be established until he reaches the point in his rehab that he's facing live hitters in simulated games or minor-league starts.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Takes loss in quality start

Kremer (0-1) took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven across six innings. It was a mostly strong outing from Kremer, who generated 14 whiffs and tossed 58 strikes on 95 pitches. His lone, yet consequential, blemish came in the fifth inning, when he yielded a three-run homer to Brayan Rocchio, and the Orioles' batters were unable to generate enough offense for Kremer to avoid the loss. The right-hander has looked good in his two starts since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk last Monday. His next start is tentatively slated for next weekend at home against the rival Red Sox.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Fans nine in season debut

Kremer took a no-decision Monday against the Diamondbacks, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and no walks in five innings. He struck out nine. Making his season debut, Kremer worked rather efficiently while tossing 55 of his 80 pitches for strikes Monday. The right-hander was sharp overall, registering 15 swings and misses while fanning at least nine for the fourth time in his career. Kremer is competing with Cade Povich, who was optioned to the minor leagues earlier Monday, for Zach Eflin's (elbow) rotation spot, and Kremer might have earned another start with Baltimore ahead of his next scheduled turn this weekend versus Cleveland.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Called up, will start Monday

The Orioles recalled Kremer from Triple-A Norfolk and have named him their starting pitcher for Mondays' game against the Diamondbacks at Camden Yards. In a corresponding move, the Orioles optioned Cade Povich to Triple-A, after the lefty tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball in a win over the Giants on Sunday. With Povich at least temporarily out of the picture, Kremer looks like he'll have a clear path to an extended stay in the rotation spot that previously belonged to Zach Eflin (elbow), who underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery last week. Kremer owns a 4.26 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 12.6 K-BB% over 671.2 career innings in the majors and is coming off a strong outing his last time out with Norfolk on Wednesday, when he struck out six over 4.2 scoreless frames.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Shaky in first spring outing

Kremer took the loss during Friday's 8-2 Grapefruit League loss to the Pirates, allowing two runs on three walks in two innings. He struck out one. Following a clean first inning, Kremer gave up two runs in the second frame after walking the bases loaded with no outs. The 30-year-old right-hander is in the mix to be Baltimore's No. 5 starter to open the season, but he has plenty of competition this spring in Tyler Wells, Cade Povich and Brandon Young, Kremer is set to exit Orioles camp soon to pitch for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic, per Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Cruises to victory

Kremer (11-10) yielded one hit over 6.1 scoreless innings Tuesday, striking out four and earning a win over the Rays. Kremer retired the first nine batters he faced before giving up a single to Chandler Simpson in the fourth inning. Kremer faced no trouble from Tampa Bay's lineup as he picked up his first quality start since Aug. 17 and his second straight win. He was tagged with a combined 13 earned runs in his final two starts of August but has since given up just two runs in his last 15 frames, lowering his season ERA from 4.52 to 4.23 in the process. Kremer is expected to end his season with a 140:44 K:BB through 168 innings.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Secures 10th win

Kremer (10-10) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over 5.2 innings Tuesday, striking out four and earning a win against the White Sox. It wasn't Kremer's sharpest outing, but he got the job done after allowing a two-run shot to Kyle Teel in the first inning. Despite striking out only four batters, Kremer racked up 16 whiffs on 97 total pitches, including eight with his splitter. However, it was the first time he issued more than two walks since July 19. Kremer is now sporting a 4.39 ERA with a 136:44 K:BB through 164 innings. He's lined up for a home start against the Rays next week.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Cleared to start Tuesday

Kremer (forearm) is slated to start Tuesday's game against the White Sox in Chicago, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Though he didn't require a stint on the injured list after departing his Sept. 5 start against the Dodgers due to forearm discomfort, Kremer had one turn in the rotation skipped and ended up missing a week and a half of action due to the injury. Fortunately, Kremer seems to have checked out fine following a bullpen session Friday, leaving the Orioles optimistic that he'll be ready to handle something close to a normal workload Tuesday. Prior to sustaining the injury, Kremer had posted a 4.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB in 50 innings over his nine starts since the All-Star break.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: Ready for bullpen session Friday

Kremer (forearm) will throw an extensive bullpen session Friday and could rejoin the Baltimore rotation next week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Kremer was removed from last Friday's 2-1 win over the Dodgers due to right forearm soreness and had his next turn in the rotation skipped. However, he has recovered well since then and is on track to return next week if he can avoid a setback following Friday's throwing session. The Orioles haven't revealed the target date for Kremer's next start, but he appears to be lined up to take the hill Sept. 18 at home versus the Yankees.

  • Orioles' Dean Kremer: MRI returns negative

Kremer's MRI on his right forearm came back clean, though he'll miss his next start, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Kremer exited Friday's start against the Dodgers after three innings due to right forearm discomfort. A subsequent MRI returned negative, but Kremer is going to have his next turn skipped. However, if the veteran hurler feels okay after he resumes throwing, he could avoid an IL stint.
