  • Korey Lee C | CHW

White Sox's Korey Lee: Getting rest Saturday

Lee isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Padres.

Lee's 2-for-4 performance in Friday's contest broke an 0-for-18 stretch at the plate, and he'll now get a chance to rest Saturday while Chuckie Robinson catches for Chris Flexen.

  • Will Brennan RF | SF

Guardians' Will Brennan: Resting up Saturday

Brennan isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Cardinals.

Brennan will get a day off Saturday after going 0-for-4 during a win in Friday's series opener. He'll be replaced in right field by Jhonkensy Noel, who will bat seventh.

  • Victor Robles RF | SEA

Mariners' Victor Robles: Getting rest Saturday

Robles isn't in the Mariners' lineup Saturday against Texas.

Robles went 2-for-4 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base during Friday's win, and he'll get a chance to rest Saturday against Dane Dunning and the Rangers. Randy Arozarena, Julio Rodriguez and Luke Raley will form the Mariners' outfield trio while Robles sits.

  • Jordan Leasure RP | CHW

White Sox's Jordan Leasure: Activated, optioned to Triple-A

The White Sox reinstated Leasure (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.

Leasure allowed three earned runs over 4.1 innings during his rehab assignment with Charlotte, and he will now remain in the minors despite being ostensibly recovered from his shoulder impingement. The 26-year-old carries a 6.32 ERA and 1.60 WHIP through 31.1 innings in the majors this season and most likely won't make another appearance for the White Sox over the final eight games of the year.

  • Mike Soroka SP | ARI

White Sox's Michael Soroka: Back from IL

The White Sox reinstated Soroka (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Saturday.

Soroka has been on the injured list since mid-July due to a strained right shoulder, but he's been cleared to return to the Pale Hose after giving up three earned runs across nine innings during a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. The 27-year-old has struggled in his first year with Chicago, posting a 5.23 ERA and 1.47 WHIP, but a lack of depth in the Chicago bullpen will keep him in a middle-relief role. Chad Kuhl was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Red Sox's Kutter Crawford: Start postponed

Crawford and the Red Sox won't face Minnesota on Saturday, as the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The two teams will play a doubleheader Sunday and Crawford will get the nod in the nightcap, per Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald. In three starts this month, the 28-year-old righty has given up nine earned runs across 16.2 innings while striking out 21 batters, though he's been saddled with a loss all three times.

  • Pablo Lopez SP | MIN

Twins' Pablo Lopez: Twins-Red Sox postponed

Lopez and the Twins won't face the Red Sox on Saturday, as the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Saturday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday, and Lopez will get the ball to start Game 1, per Helfand. The 28-year-old righty has made a start against the Red Sox once already this season in May, during which he gave up one earned run over six innings while striking out eight batters and collecting a win.

  • Rangers' Gerson Garabito: Back in big leagues

The Rangers recalled Garabito from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Garabito was sent out to the minors Friday, but he will now return to the big club to replace Max Scherzer (hamstring), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Garabito holds a 4.88 ERA through 24 innings in the majors this year, though he's allowed eight earned runs over his last 6.1 frames and will most likely be limited to low-leverage work until he bounces back.

  • Max Scherzer SP | TOR

Rangers' Max Scherzer: Done for season

The Rangers placed Scherzer on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left hamstring strain.

Scherzer was originally scheduled to start Saturday's game versus Seattle, but instead he will have his season cut short as he moves to the injured list. He finishes the 2024 campaign with a 3.95 ERA and 1.15 WHIP after making just nine starts in a season riddled with shoulder, back and now hamstring injuries. Scherzer is due to become a free agent this offseason, though retirement may also be on the table for the 40-year-old righty.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATH

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Getting breather Saturday

Heim isn't in the Rangers' lineup for Saturday's game versus the Mariners.

After collecting four hits across his last four games, Heim will take a seat on the bench Saturday while Carson Kelly catches for right-hander Dane Dunning.
