Cabrera is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

Even though Cabrera and Oswald Peraza are both right-handed hitters, the two appear to have settled into a de facto platoon at third base. All seven of Cabrera's starts have come against right-handed pitching, and all four of his absences from the lineup have come when the Yankees have faced left-handers. Peraza will make his third straight start against a southpaw Tuesday as the Tigers send ace Tarik Skubal to the hill.

Bellinger is absent from Tuesday's lineup in Detroit.

Bellinger has dealt with a stiff back recently, and while there's no indication he's had a setback, lefty ace Tarik Skubal being on the bump for the Tigers offers an opportunity to give Bellinger a little more rest. Jasson Dominguez, Trent Grisham and Aaron Judge will patrol the outfield for the Yankees.

Malloy will start at designated hitter and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

Malloy will make his sixth consecutive start -- including his fifth in a row out of the leadoff spot -- after getting on base at a .462 clip in 26 plate appearances since his March 31 call-up. The 25-year-old's long-term path to regular playing time could become murkier once the Tigers get at least one or two of Gleyber Torres (oblique), Matt Vierling (shoulder), Wenceel Perez (back) and Parker Meadows (arm) back from the injured list, but with none of those players are expected to return in the near future, Malloy should continue to enjoy a full-time role in a prominent lineup spot.

Kreidler is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

Kreidler will give way to Riley Greene in center field after starting in each of the Tigers' last three contests. Though he could have a fairly clear pathway to playing time in the outfield until Detroit gets one of Wenceel Perez (back), Matt Vierling (shoulder) or Parker Meadows (arm) back from the injured list, Kreidler has done little to warrant much attention in fantasy circles. He enters Tuesday's contest with a .136 average, three runs, one stolen base and no RBI in nine games and has struck out in 12 of his 25 plate appearances.

Prielipp gave up two runs with three strikeouts and a walk over two innings in his first start Saturday for Double-A Wichita. He'll begin the season as a starting pitcher but on a strict pitch count, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The 48th overall draft pick in 2022 hasn't been able to stay healthy, as he needed Tommy John surgery in 2021 and then needed internal brace surgery on the same elbow in July 2023. He threw just 23.1 innings last year while working his way back from the latter injury. It's not clear if the Twins will keep him as a starter or move him to the bullpen long term, but he has the strikeout rate to be an impact arm in the majors (41.6% K% at High-A last season).

Hamilton started at second base and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jays.

Hamilton filled in for Kristian Campbell, who received his first day off of the season after starting the first 10 games, including both ends of Sunday's doubleheader. The stolen base was the second of the season for Hamilton, who is 1-for-14 with five strikeouts through six games played.

Pillar started in center field and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Cubs.

Pillar made his second start of the season, both coming as the center fielder against lefties. Leody Taveras is the primary center fielder when the Rangers face righties. Pillar is 4-for-10 with a stolen base, an RBI and three runs scored through five outings.

Smith started at third base and went 0-for-2 with a walk in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Cubs.

Smith has been the primary fill-in at third base while Josh Jung (neck) worked his way back from the 10-day injured list. Jung's IL stint is expected to end Tuesday, when the Rangers plan to activate him. That means Smith will be free to play one of the many other positions on his resume. Smith batted .350 (7-for-20) over seven games since Jung was placed on the IL.

The Yankees designated Ottavino for assignment Tuesday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

For the second time in five days, Ottavino has been removed from the Yankees' 40-man roster. He quickly re-signed the first time around, but it's not clear whether the Yankees plan to bring him back again.

The Yankees activated Hamilton (illness) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

An infection caused a late start to the season for Hamilton, but he's ready to rejoin the Yankees bullpen after making three rehab appearances. Hamilton should eventually work his way back into being a high-leverage reliever, but he might be eased into such situations.
