  • Royals' Kameron Misner: Taking seat Wednesday

Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals. Since being called up from Triple-A Omaha a week ago, Misner has drawn starts in five of the Royals' ensuing eight games, going 6-for-16 with a walk, a stolen base and three RBI. Though he'll head to the bench Wednesday, the Royals should be able to make regular room in the outfield for both Misner and Lane Thomas while Kyle Isbel (foot) and Vinnie Pasquantino (hand) are on the injured list.

  • Royals' Kameron Misner: Sitting against southpaw

Misner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals. Though he'll head to the bench for the series opener in Washington while the left-handed Andrew Alvarez toes the rubber for the Nationals, Misner should be in line for an extended look as a strong-side platoon player while Kyle Isbel (foot) and Vinnie Pasquantino (hand) are on the shelf. Misner started in each of the last four games while the Royals faced right-handed pitchers, going 6-for-12 with a walk, a stolen base and three RBI over those contests.

  • Royals' Kameron Misner: Will start season in Triple-A

Kansas City optioned Misner to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday. Misner was traded from the Rays to the Royals in November. The speedy outfielder stole 22 bases in 30 attempts with Tampa Bay last season but posted a poor .618 OPS and 31.8 percent strikeout rate. Misner has intriguing speed and power, but his struggles making contact could be an obstacle to him spending much time in the majors.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Knocks in two

Misner went 2-for-5 with two RBI on Friday against the Tigers. Misner has gone through a tough stretch at the plate, tallying only 11 hits across his last 27 games and 67 at-bats. However, he delivered Friday with a pair of RBI singles -- one of which came on a bunt. Despite his slump, Misner has started 13 of 18 games in June thanks to his defensive work in the outfield.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Sitting Monday

Misner is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Orioles on Monday. Misner will begin Monday's game on the bench while Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Josh Lowe start in the outfield from left to right. Misner has struggled at the plate in June, going 5-for-32 (.156) with one steal, one home run, three RBI and a 29.4 percent strikeout rate.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Out of lineup

Misner is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Boston. It's Misner's third absence from the lineup over the last five games -- his second against a right-handed pitcher. Jake Mangum is in center field and Christopher Morel is in left field for the Rays on Tuesday.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Day off Friday

Misner is absent from the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins. Misner had started the previous four tilts but will get a breather for Friday's series opener. Jake Mangum will slide over to center field and Jose Caballero will cover left field for the Rays.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Ends hitless streak

Misner went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, a walk and a stolen base Sunday against the Blue Jays. Misner entered Sunday's game hitless across his last seven appearances, spanning 14 at-bats. He broke that stretch in his first plate appearance and then stole his sixth base of the season after reaching on a fielder's choice in his next at-bat. Despite the positive performance, Misner is hitting just .125 across 64 at-bats with three RBI and nine runs scored across 21 games in May. Positively, he does have five of his stolen bases in that span.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Homers in Thursday's win

Misner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-3 win over the Blue Jays. Misner has hit safely in four straight games, going 4-for-15 with two RBI and eight strikeouts in that span. He hasn't logged a multi-hit effort since April 23 versus the Diamondbacks, but the Rays' injury woes in the outfield have allowed Misner to maintain a starting role in center field. He cedes some at-bats to Chandler Simpson, primarily against left-handed pitchers. Misner has a .256/.305/.436 slash line with four homers, 13 RBI, 18 runs scored, three stolen bases, seven doubles and a triple over 128 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Production slowing

Misner went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Friday against the Yankees. Misner has enjoyed a surprisingly consistent role in the Rays' offense to begin the season due to several injuries to the team's outfield. He began the campaign well, hitting .400 with three homers across his first 14 games. However, in 14 games since, he's struck out at a 30.4 percent clip with no homers and two RBI. Despite the slowed production, Misner remains on the strong side of a platoon and has also been in the lineup for two of Tampa Bay's last three matchups against southpaws.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Sitting vs. southpaw

Misner is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Wednesday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. With the Red Sox sending southpaw Sean Newcomb to the mound for Wednesday's series finale, Misner will be on the bench to begin the game while Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Jose Caballero man the outfield. Misner has reached base safely in each of his last five games, going 7-for-17 with two walks, one stolen base, five runs scored, two home runs and four RBI over that span.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Clubs pair of homers

Misner went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a walk in Monday's 16-1 win over the Red Sox. Misner powered the Rays' offense with his first career multi-homer game. The 27-year-old hit a 431-foot, two-run bomb in the second inning before returning in the eighth to add a 355-foot solo shot. Misner is currently in a strong-side platoon role but may garner additional playing time thanks to his scorching hot .400/.444/.775 slash line across 45 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Getting afternoon off

Misner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. • Rays' Kameron Misner: Taking seat against lefty

Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. With lefty Yusei Kikuchi on the hill for the Angels, the Rays will counter with a lineup made up entirely of right-handed and switch hitters. Tampa Bay will roll out an outfield of Christopher Morel, Jake Mangum and Jose Caballero from left to right while Misner sits.

  • Rays' Kameron Misner: Summoned to big leagues

The Rays selected Misner's contract from Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports. It's the first major-league promotion for Misner, who has slashed .247/.356/.446 with 15 home runs and 27 stolen bases with Durham this season. Misner, 26, also has a 30.1 percent strikeout rate with Durham, and swings and misses have been a problem for him throughout pro ball. He's capable of handling all three outfield spots but it's unclear how much Misner will play.

  • Marlins' Kameron Misner: Invited to big-league camp

Misner will join the Marlins' major-league spring training later this month. Misner hit a solid .270/.388/.362 in his first 42 games as a professional in 2019 after being selected 35th overall in the draft. The canceled minor-league season last year meant he didn't get the chance to follow that up, however, so he'll likely need some time in the upper minors before pushing for his big-league debut.
