The Angels placed Moncada on the 10-day injured list Monday with right knee inflammation.

Moncada injured the knee last Wednesday and had missed two of the last three contests before the Angels decided to make a roster move. It's the second trip to the IL this season for Moncada, who previously missed a month of action with a thumb injury. Luis Rengifo is likely to see the bulk of the starts at third base while Moncada is out.

The Angels recalled Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City on Monday.

Aldegheri made three starts for the Angels late last season, but he'll be back with the big club for the first time in 2025 after being optioned to the minors early on in spring training. The 23-year-old lefty has continued his development as a starter this season at Rocket City, where he had posted a 4.54 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 41.2 innings across his eight outings. The Angels don't appear to have an opening in the rotation at the moment, so Aldegheri is likely to slot in as a multi-inning reliever for the time being.

The Tigers designated Cusick for assignment Monday.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Parker Meadows (arm), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. The Tigers claimed Cusick off waivers from the Athletics last week, but he made just one appearance for Triple-A Toledo before Detroit booted him off the roster.

The Angels recalled Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

With the Angels placing third baseman Yoan Moncada (knee) going on the injured list in a corresponding move, Lugo is eligible to rejoin the big club ahead of Monday's game in Boston, despite being optioned to Triple-A just four days earlier. Lugo is capable of playing all three outfield spots but will likely find playing time difficult to come by while all of Mike Trout, Jorge Soler, Taylor Ward and Jo Adell are available.

The Tigers optioned Malloy to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.

Malloy has slashed .260/.413/.360 against left-handed pitching this season, but he'll give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to Parker Meadows (arm), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list. The 25-year-old Malloy will get regular playing time at Toledo and should receive another opportunity in the majors later on this season.

The Tigers activated Meadows (arm) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Meadows missed the first 60 games of the season while recovering from a nerve issue in his throwing arm. The 25-year-old outfielder played six rehab games, going 7-for-27 with one home run and an 8:6 K:BB. While the Tigers might ease him into everyday duties following a long layoff, Meadows projects to be the team's primary center fielder for the remainder of the season. He's starting in center field and batting leadoff in Monday's game versus the White Sox.

Abreu is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Abreu had started each of the last seven games while the Red Sox faced right-handed starters, but he'll hit the bench for the series opener versus the Angels with southpaw Tyler Anderson on the bump. Platoon mate Rob Refsnyder will fill in for Abreu in right field and will bat third.

The Yankees will place Carrasco on outright waivers prior to Tuesday's game against the Guardians, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Carrasco was added to the big-league roster Sunday as bullpen protection but did not make an appearance. He accepted an outright assignment by the Yankees in May and could do so again.

Taylor is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Taylor had picked up starts in each of his first three games upon signing with the Angels last Monday, but after going 1-for-9 in those contests, he appears to have faded into a reserve role. He'll be on the bench Monday for the third time in four games while the Angels run out a starting outfield of Taylor Ward, Jo Adell and Jorge Soler from left to right.

Cruz (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Cruz will skip a rehab assignment and go directly back into the Yankees bullpen after tossing an 18-pitch live batting practice session Saturday. He's missed the last two weeks with right shoulder inflammation. The Yankees plan to place Carlos Carrasco on outright waivers in a corresponding move.
