Moncada is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Boston, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moncada returned to the lineup Saturday after missing one game with a sore knee, but he has now been absent from the lineup for two straight contests. It's not clear whether he's had a setback or if the Angels are just being proactive with his rest. Luis Rengifo is at third base and Scott Kingery is at second base for the second day in a row.

Fitts will start Monday's game against the Angels in Boston.

With the Red Sox moving Hunter Dobbins to the bullpen last week, Fitts appears poised to hold down a spot in the rotation, at least until Boston gets Kutter Crawford (knee) and/or Tanner Houck (elbow) back from the injured list. After missing nearly six weeks due to a pectoral strain, Fitts returned from the IL last Tuesday. He started in the Red Sox's loss to the Brewers that day, but because he didn't get fully stretched out on his rehab assignment prior to being activated, Fitts was lifted after tossing three innings and 44 pitches. Manager Alex Cora said that Fitts will be available for 75 to 80 pitches Monday in the first of a projected two starts this week, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.. The right-hander lines up for a second start this weekend against the Yankees on the road.

Campbell will start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's contest versus the Angels.

Campbell has hit eighth a few times -- including twice over the weekend -- but this is the first time this season he's occupied the lowest spot in the batting order. The rookie is sporting a lowly. .361 OPS since the beginning of May.

Mayer is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Mayer has taken over as the Red Sox's everyday third baseman since Alex Bregman (quadriceps) landed on the injured list, but he will be given some rest for Monday's series opener. Abraham Toro will start at the hot corner Monday.

The Red Sox optioned Eaton to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.

Eaton was up with the big club for just one day and went unused off the bench in Sunday's 3-1 win over Atlanta. The 28-year-old infielder/outfielder will retain his spot on the 40-man roster but will head back to the minors as the Red Sox make room on the 26-man active roster for infielder Romy Gonzalez (quadriceps), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

The Red Sox activated Gonzalez (quad) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Gonzalez needed only two rehab games with Triple-A Worcester in order to convince the Red Sox he was ready to go. The utility player will be thrown back into the first-base mix for Boston, likely sharing the position with Abraham Toro.

Teel has been working out at first base recently at Triple-A Charlotte, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Teel has yet to play a position other than catcher in pro ball, and it's unlikely he'll be moved off that position on a full-time basis anytime soon. However, with Edgar Quero also vying for reps behind the plate, it makes sense for Teel to get some reps at another position. Teel is slashing .289/.394/.491 with eight home runs and seven stolen bases over 48 games with Charlotte in 2025.

Beavers (shoulder) has gone 1-for-7 with two walks, one run and one stolen base in three games since being reinstated from Triple-A Norfolk's 7-day injured list Saturday.

Beavers was sidelined for just under two weeks with a right shoulder sprain. One of the top outfield prospects in the Baltimore system, Beavers owns a .296/.393/.408 slash line with three home runs and 16 stolen bases over 184 plate appearances at Norfolk this season.

Zerpa threw 1.2 scoreless innings in Sunday's 1-0 loss against the Tigers. He lowered his ERA to 5.01

Zerpa has improved after a few rough outings in March and early May, as he has a 1.08 ERA and 0.60 WHIP since May 16. However, he's seen a significant drop in his strikeout rate to 13.6 percent from 20.5 percent in 2024. He still has plus velocity with an average 96.0 mph fastball, so there's hope for a turnaround. He has just two holds as his slow start has limited his high-leverage usage, but he's still a key lefty in the setup corps.

Weems agreed to a minor-league deal with the Astros on Monday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The righty reliever is expected to report to Triple-A Sugar Land as he begins his tenure in the Astros organization. Weems opened the season with Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate in Gwinnett, turning in a 5.09 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB in 17.2 innings before he was released May 19.
