  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: No structural damage in elbow

Sabrowski (elbow) underwent an MRI on Tuesday which confirmed inflammation but no structural damage, MLB.com reports. Sabrowski was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday after not appearing in a game since last week. The Guardians have not provided a timeline as of yet, but the MLB.com report suggests a possible return in July. The return timeline could change pending new information in the coming weeks.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Sidelined by elbow inflammation

The Guardians placed Sabrowski on the 15-day injured list Monday with left elbow inflammation. Sabrowski hasn't pitched since last Wednesday, so he might have been dealing with a tender elbow for a few days. It will be a big blow for the Guardians for however long Sabrowski is sidelined, as he's been one of the best relievers in baseball this season with a 1.71 ERA and 39:13 K:BB over 21 innings. The southpaw has notched a league-leading 17 holds.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: First to 10 holds

Sabrowski struck out one in a perfect eighth inning Friday to record his 10th hold of the season in an 8-6 win over the Blue Jays. The Canadian southpaw continues an impressive start to the season that has seen Sabrowski produce a 2.84 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 20:5 K:BB through 12.2 innings over 14 appearances. Sabrowski's 10 holds not only lead the majors, no one else is particularly close -- the Reds' Tony Santillan and the Royals' Matt Strahm are tied for second with seven holds apiece.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Reinstated from IL

The Guardians activated Sabrowski (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Friday. Sabrowski has been sidelined since spring training due to left elbow inflammation, and he's finally been cleared to make his 2025 debut. The 27-year-old threw 12.2 scoreless innings for Cleveland last season, but he has struggled a bit during his rehab assignment, logging a 5.14 ERA over seven innings at Triple-A Columbus. Sabrowski will take Zak Kent's spot on the active roster.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Moves to 60-day IL

The Guardians transferred Sabrowski (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Sabrowski has been sidelined since spring training due to left elbow inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least late May. His spot on the 40-man roster will be given to Kolby Allard, who was selected from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Extends throwing distance

Sabrowski (elbow) extended his throwing distance to 90 feet Wednesday. Sabrowski started playing catch from 60 feet out last Wednesday, and the Guardians seem to be building him up relatively slowly. Assuming he doesn't run into any setbacks in his rehab from an anti-inflammatory injection, the 27-year-old southpaw could return to game action sometime in late April or early May.

  • Guardians' Erik Sabrowski: Receives first MLB call-up

The Guardians recalled Sabrowski from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports. Cleveland designated lefty Anthony Gose for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for Sabrowski, who will be making his MLB debut if and when he gets into a game. A 26-year-old lefty reliever, Sabrowski had turned in a 4.38 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 53:30 K:BB over 37 innings at Columbus this season.
