  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Officially recalled to majors

Montgomery was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

A first-round pick in 2021, Montgomery has spent the past couple seasons at the Triple-A level, slashing .215/.319/.398 across 814 total plate appearances. He has put up 11 homers and a couple steals over 55 games this season and will now get his first look at the major-league level, presumably as the starting shortstop for Chicago. He replaces Vinny Capra on the active roster.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Back in action Friday

Westburg (finger) is starting at third base and batting second Friday in Atlanta, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Westburg was held out of a few games with an injured left index finger that he says won't be 100 percent for a while, but he's giving it a go for the first game of this weekend's series. He is slashing .228/.286/.434 with seven home runs and one steal in 36 games.

  • Zack Kelly RP | BOS

Red Sox's Zack Kelly: Placed on 15-day IL

Kelly (oblique) was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, and his prior option to Triple-A Worcester was rescinded, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Kelly tweaked his right oblique Sunday, and since he suffered the injury in the majors prior to getting optioned Monday, he'll get to spend his recovery on the big-league IL. The 30-year-old righty has a 5.56 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB in 22.2 innings with the big club.

  • Roman Anthony OF | BOS

Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Reaches five times in win

Anthony went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and a run scored in Friday's 11-2 win over the Nationals. He was also hit by a pitch.

Anthony was a thorn in the Nationals' side all game, and he sparked a seven-run fifth inning with a leadoff double. The rookie appears to be finding his footing, hitting safely in six of his past seven games with five doubles, two RBI and five runs scored. He's slashing .219/.345/.356 with one home run, seven RBI, 10 runs scored and a stolen base across his first 87 major-league plate appearances.

  • Tigers' Justyn-Henry Malloy: Heading back to Triple-A

Malloy was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

This move corresponds to Reese Olson (blister) getting activated from the injured list. Malloy was recalled Wednesday, so his stay was brief. He has a .208/.339/.281 slash line with one home run in 46 big-league games this season, with 15 of his 24 starts coming against southpaws.

  • Reese Olson SP | DET

Tigers' Reese Olson: Activated ahead of Friday's start

Olson (finger) was activated from the 15-day injured list prior to his start Friday against the Guardians.

Olson hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May 17, but he made three rehab starts, building up to four innings in his most recent outing June 25 at Triple-A. He has a 2.96 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB in 48.2 innings through nine big-league starts this season.

  • Jarren Duran LF | BOS

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Drives in three in win

Duran went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and one run scored in Friday's 11-2 win over the Nationals.

Duran hit an RBI single in the second inning and later added a two-run double in the fifth. The 28-year-old is riding a modest five-game hitting streak and has hit safely in nine of his past 11 games overall, with the latter stretch including six extra-base hits, four RBI and eight runs scored. On the season, he's slashing .255/.313/.412 with six home runs, 42 RBI, 48 runs scored and 15 steals across 404 plate appearances.

  • Trent Grisham CF | NYY

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Homers in return

Grisham went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks against the Blue Jays in Thursday's loss.

Grisham returned to the lineup after beginning on the bench in each of New York's previous two games due to a hamstring injury. The veteran outfielder reached three times in his return, with his lone hit being a solo blast to center field in the third inning. Grisham is up to 16 home runs through 74 games this season -- his career high is 17 long balls, which he slugged over 152 contests with the Padres in 2022.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Fills stat sheet in win

Story went 4-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 11-2 win over the Nationals.

Story laced a two-run single in the fifth inning and later added a two-run blast in the eighth, notching his first four-hit game of the season as well as his first time homering and swiping a base in the same contest. The shortstop is riding a six-game hitting streak and has hit safely in eight of his past 10 games, with the latter stretch including seven extra-base hits, 13 RBI, nine runs scored and three stolen bases. For the year, Story is slashing .252/.293/.404 with 13 long balls, 51 RBI, 42 runs scored and 14 steals across 349 plate appearances.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Racks up four hits Thursday

Dominguez went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, a run and a stolen base Thursday in a loss to Toronto.

Among Dominguez's hits was his first career triple. This was the second time on the season that the 22-year-old has tallied four hits in a game, and both performances have come over the past 10 days. Dominguez has been very hot of late, recording five multi-hit efforts over his past nine contests and slashing .444/.444/.583 over that span. The productive stretch has pushed his season OPS up to .752 through 278 plate appearances.
