Cannon's start against the Guardians on Thursday was postponed due to rain.

The teams will have a doubleheader Friday, with the first game set for 3:10 p.m. ET. Cannon should take the ball in one of those contests for his final start before the All-Star break.

The teams are set for a doubleheader Friday, with Allen scheduled to take the ball in Game 1 at 3:10 p.m. ET, per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com. Allen has been inconsistent this season, though he's allowed three or fewer earned runs and completed at least five innings in five consecutive outings.

Henderson went 4-for-6 with a two-run homer, a double and an additional run scored in Thursday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets.

After starting the opening game on the bench, Henderson provided the decisive blow as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning, launching a two-run homer off Ryne Stanek, his 11th of the year, to put the Orioles ahead 2-1. The 24-year-old Henderson would then add three more hits in the nightcap. It was an encouraging day for the shortstop, who'd gone just 8-for-39 (.205) in his previous nine games. Overall, Henderson's slashing .277/.343/.451 with 31 RBI, 48 runs scored and 10 stolen bases across 361 plate appearances this season.

Pederson (hand) will resume batting practice in 2-to-3 weeks, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

It was reported in early July that Pederson was expected to be activated roughly a week after the All-Star break, but the progress in his recovery from a fractured hand appears to be coming along slower than anticipated. The veteran slugger shouldn't be expected to be back with the Rangers until at least early August.

Sugano (7-5) earned the win over the Mets in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out two.

It's an encouraging way to head into the All-Star break for Sugano -- he logged his first quality start since June 3 after struggling to an 8.87 ERA over his previous five starts (22.1 innings). Overall, the 35-year-old right-hander sports a 4.44 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and 59:22 K:BB through his first 18 starts (99.1 innings) in the majors.

Schanuel is out of Thursday's lineup against the Rangers due to calf tightness, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Schanuel has reportedly been dealing with the discomfort for the last few days, though he has still collected four hits across 12 at-bats in the first three games of the Angels' series against Texas. Assuming he can make it through the weekend unscathed, some extra rest is on the horizon with the All-Star break just a few days out.

Mahle (shoulder) will resume throwing in one week, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Mahle has already been ruled out past the trade deadline, and his absence could extend into mid-August, depending how quickly he ramps up. He's been sidelined since mid-June, so he'll almost certainly need multiple rehab starts after progressing through bullpen and live batting practice sessions.

Gray (forearm) will make his next rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Gray began his rehab assignment Wednesday and threw 32 pitches while completing two innings. It was previously estimated that he would make four rehab appearances, setting Gray up for a potential return in late July.

McDermott was removed from his start with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday due to right elbow discomfort, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

McDermott was in the midst of a strong start, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out six across 5.1 innings. The seriousness of the injury is unclear, though an arm issue always raises some level of concern. McDermott has allowed at least four earned runs in five of his eight starts since being demoted to Norfolk in late May.

The Astros are expected to select Matthews' contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Matthews will get a chance to show off his skills in the majors after slashing .298/.401/.504 with four homers, 16 RBI, 24 runs scored and nine stolen bases across 31 games since the beginning of June. The Astros may look to use the 23-year-old regularly at second base while returning Jose Altuve to left field to provide aid for an outfield unit that has been hit hard by injuries recently.
