The Tigers reinstated Carpenter (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start in right field and bat third in the Tigers' series finale with the Blue Jays.

Infielder Trey Sweeney was optioned to Triple-A Toledo to make room on the 26-man active roster for Carpenter, who has been on the shelf since June 29 due to a right hamstring strain. Between the corner-outfield and designated-hitter spots, Carpenter should be a regular presence in the Detroit lineup against right-handed pitching.

Wilson has been playing through a bruised hand and is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The rookie shortstop has apparently been playing through the injury for a couple weeks after he was hit by a pitch prior to the All-Star break. The issue doesn't seem to be a serious concern, but Wilson will receive a day off Sunday while he's in the midst of a 3-for-29 slump. Max Schuemann will draw the start at shortstop for the Athletics.

Urias will start at third base and bat fifth in Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Urias will stick in the starting nine for the fifth time in six games, going 5-for-18 with three doubles, three walks, one RBI and one run to begin the second half of the season. Four of those five starts have come against left-handed pitching, so Urias may still be viewed as more of a part-time player against righties.

Cowser is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Cowser will take a seat along with Jackson Holliday and Ryan O'Hearn while the Orioles face off against southpaw Austin Gomber. Dylan Carlson will start in left field in place of Cowser, who went 1-for-3 with two walks, one stolen base and three runs in Saturday's 18-0 romp.

Holliday is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

With the Orioles concluding their series against Colorado for a day game after a night game and with a southpaw (Austin Gomber) on the hill for the Rockies, the left-handed-hitting Holliday will get a breather. Jordan Westburg will fill in at second base in place of Holliday, who went 2-for-6 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot in Saturday's 18-0 win.

Stallings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Stallings will rest Sunday after he went 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI while catching all nine innings of Saturday's 18-0 win. Alex Jackson will get the nod behind the plate in the series finale.

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

O'Hearn will hit the bench for the third time in four games while the Orioles face off against another lefty starter in Austin Gomber. O'Hearn is slashing just .212/.317/.269 in 60 plate appearances versus southpaws on the season and looks to have moved into a pure platoon role.

Anthony went 2-for-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Dodgers.

Anthony gave Boston an insurance run with an RBI double in the fifth inning. He's reached base safely in 17 of the last 18 games, going 21-for-62 (.339) with 12 walks (.461 OBP) during that stretch. It took the prospect a while to acclimate to the majors -- he batted .114 over his 14 games -- but Anthony has slashed .341/.431/.500 over his last 24 contests.

The Yankees recalled Headrick from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

The left-hander spent most of July on the injured list at Triple-A, but he was reinstated last week and is now getting another look with the Yankees. Headrick has made 11 appearances in the majors this season and has a 4.73 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 16:3 K:BB across 13.1 innings.

The Yankees placed Judge (elbow) on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right flexor strain.

Though Judge will head to the IL for the first time since the 2023 season, the superstar outfielder appears to have avoided a worst-case scenario after scans on his injured right elbow revealed no ligament damage, per Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com. Judge received a platelet-rich plasma injection for the elbow injury and is slated to avoid surgery, though manager Aaron Boone said that the two-time MVP won't throw a baseball for about 10 days to two weeks while he gives his elbow time to heal. Despite the lack of throwing activity, Judge will still have a chance at returning from the IL on Aug. 5 when first eligible, as the Yankees plan to initially use him as a designated hitter before he's cleared to play the outfield again. While Judge is on the shelf, Jasson Dominguez and Trent Grisham should both be in line for full-time roles in the outfield. Boone also noted that Giancarlo Stanton could also get some exposure to the corner outfield in order to open up the DH spot for Judge upon his return.
