  • Curtis Mead 1B | WAS

White Sox's Curtis Mead: Playing well with regular at-bats

Mead went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI on Thursday against the Twins.

Mead has started eight straight games and 10 of the last 11 contests while playing exclusively at third base. In that 11-game span, he's gone 13-for-44 (.295) with three RBI, seven runs scored and five doubles. Mead also has a seven-game hitting streak and should continue to see regular at-bats at least until Miguel Vargas (wrist) rejoins the lineup.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Modest four-game hit streak

Correa went 2-for-5 with a double on Thursday against the Yankees.

Correa has reached base consistently since his reunion with the Astros, maintaining a .293 average and .351 on-base percentage across 123 at-bats. He currently has a four-game hitting streak and has recorded a double in each of his last two contests. Correa also continues to occupy a key spot in the Houston lineup, as he's hit primarily second or fourth.

  • Travis Bazzana 2B | CLE

Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Wallops first Triple-A homer

Bazzana went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored for Triple-A Columbus on Thursday.

Twenty games into his stay at the highest level of the minors, Bazzana launched his first home run for the Clippers in style, as his two-run shot was a walk-off job. The first overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft has endured some struggles in his first go-around at Triple-A and entered the night batting just .182 over 19 games for Columbus. However, Bazzana has exhibited a keen eye, posting a .415 on-base percentage.

  • Tyler Mahle SP | SF

Rangers' Tyler Mahle: Felt fine following rehab outing

Texas manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Mahle (shoulder) "felt fine" after Tuesday's rehab outing, MLB.com reports.

Mahle was knocked around for five runs on five hits and a walk and reached his pitch limit before retiring a batter in the second inning. The Rangers had hoped Mahle could rejoin the pitching staff following the outing, but the manager is awaiting additional information before making any further determination on next steps for the right-hander.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Powers up in loss

Manzardo went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay. He was also hit by a pitch.

Jose Ramirez and Manzardo belted back-to-back home runs to lead off the ninth inning, but that's where the Guardians' comeback stalled. The homer was Manzardo's 25th of the season and fourth in the last seven games. Earlier in the year, the lefty-hitting Manzardo started against right-handers only, but now manager Stephen Vogt is using him against lefties, too. Manzardo started the last three times the Guardians faced a southpaw starter as the club still has postseason hopes.

  • Austin Martin LF | MIN

Twins' Austin Martin: Gets on base four times

Martin went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Thursday's 11-8 loss to the White Sox.

Martin has been in the lineup in three straight games. He's gone 10-for-24 (.417) with eight walks over his last nine contests. He should maintain a decent share of playing time in the outfield as long as he's getting on base at a steady rate. For the season, Martin is slashing .284/.383/.370 with one home run, six stolen bases, two RBI, 11 runs scored, two doubles and one triple over 95 plate appearances since his call-up at the start of August.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

Twins' Trevor Larnach: Posts three hits, steal in loss

Larnach went 3-for-5 with an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 11-8 loss to the White Sox.

Larnach's steal was his first since May 28 versus the Rays, and it was his first attempt since he was caught in a July 4. While he won't light things up on the basepaths, the 28-year-old has swung a hot bat lately. He is 13-for-24 (.542) over his last six games, logging five multi-hit efforts in that span. Overall, Larnach is up to a .258/.330/.415 slash line with 16 home runs, 56 RBI, 56 runs scored, three steals, 20 doubles and one triple over a career-high 125 games this season.

  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Smacks four hits in loss

Keaschall went 4-for-5 with an RBI, one stolen base and two runs scored in Thursday's 11-8 loss to the White Sox.

Keaschall had gone five games without a multi-hit effort prior to Thursday, but he busted that slump with the first four-hit performance of his young career. He's had no trouble against major-league pitching over his first 33 games, slashing .328/.418/.508 with four home runs, 21 RBI, 18 runs scored, nine stolen bases and 10 doubles across 141 plate appearances. Keaschall should continue to see a near-everyday role at second base in the final few weeks of the campaign.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Reaches 15-homer mark

Clemens went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 11-8 loss to the White Sox.

Clemens has seen his playing time slip early in September. He's gone just 6-for-31 (.194) at the plate over his last 11 games, with his ninth-inning homer Thursday being his first extra-base hit in that span. For the season, he's at a .210/.280/.427 slash line with 15 homers, 41 RBI, 39 runs scored and two stolen bases across 101 games between the Twins and the Phillies. Clemens and fellow left-handed hitter Edouard Julien have been competing for most of the playing time at first base lately.

  • Matt Wallner RF | MIN

Twins' Matt Wallner: Lifts homer Thursday

Wallner went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and a second run scored in Thursday's 11-8 loss to the White Sox.

Wallner had gone seven games without a long ball after homering four times over three contests from Aug 23-26. The outfielder provided a blast in the fifth inning Thursday, but the Twins ultimately unraveled in the late innings. Wallner is up to 21 homers, 36 RBI, 42 runs scored, three stolen bases, 14 doubles and three triples while slashing .209/.313/.483 through 93 games this season.
