  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Continues great start with homer

Duran went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Yankees.

Duran produced the only offense in Saturday's game, as he hammered a Jhony Brito changeup 389 feet. The utility man is rolling to start the season with a .310/.344/.810 slash line. Duran has played multiple games at second base, third base, shortstop and left field this season, though he's seen most of his action at shortstop of late with Corey Seager (hamstring) on the shelf.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Leaves with right calf tightness

Crawford left Saturday's game against the Padres with right calf tightness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. He went 1-for-2 with a solo homer before exiting.

Crawford has been replaced by Brett Wisely, with Wisely playing second base and Thairo Estrada sliding over to shortstop. Crawford should be considered day-to-day until there are more updates, but there's a strong chance he will sit out Sunday's series finale against San Diego while recuperating.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Good chance to return Monday

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Rojas (hamstring) will play five innings at shortstop in a rehab game for Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday and could return from the 10-day injured list as soon as Monday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Rojas hit the IL on April 19 with a left hamstring strain, but he looks like he could be ready for activation shortly after he's first eligible to return. The 34-year-old veteran has dealt with injuries throughout the first month of the regular season and also during the Cactus League. He'll get a chance to reclaim duties at shortstop once activated, but Roberts noted that Rojas won't necessarily return as a full-time starter.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Athletics' Aledmys Diaz: Leaves with hamstring injury

Diaz left Saturday's game against the Reds with a left hamstring injury, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a stolen base before exiting.

Diaz was replaced as a pinch runner by Kevin Smith shortly after singling in Carlos Perez in the second inning. The versatile infielder should be considered day-to-day at this point.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Leading off against Burnes

Neto is leading off Saturday against Corbin Burnes and the Brewers.

Taylor Ward, who has led off almost all season, is dropped down to seventh against the tough righty, while Neto ascends to the top of the lineup. The rookie shortstop has hit first in a couple games but has usually hit eighth or ninth. Neto is hitting .244/.333/.333 with zero home runs, zero steals, zero walks and a 17.6 percent strikeout rate in 14 games.

  • Josh H. Smith SS | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Not in lineup Saturday

Smith is not in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees.

Smith has been a versatile defender out of the gate for the Rangers, but he is just 7-for-48 (.146) with one extra-base hit through 21 games.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Sitting out Saturday

Berti is not in the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Garrett Hampson will start at shortstop and bat ninth versus the Cubs and right-hander Caleb Kilian. Berti is sitting on a .228/.279/.354 slash line with two home runs and four stolen bases through 26 games this season with the Marlins.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Returns to lineup Saturday

Baez (hand) is back in the lineup for the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

Baez suffered a left hand contusion Wednesday when he was hit by a pitch, but he apparently feels well enough now to return as the Tigers' designated hitter in the early tilt at Comerica Park. He'll bat third versus O's right-hander Dean Kremer.

  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Starts at short against righty

Duran started at shortstop and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Yankees.

Duran got the start against a right-hander (Clarke Schmidt), which is normally a spot for Josh Smith, as the duo continue to fill-in for Corey Seager (hamstring) at shortstop. Texas manager Bruce Bochy's decision to veer from the pattern could be based on offense. Since Seager's injury, Duran is batting .325 (13-for-40) with four extra-base hits and eight RBI, while Smith is hitting .125 (4-for-32) with one RBI.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Mashes fifth homer of year

Pena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss against the Phillies.

Pena's 402-foot shot to right-center in the first inning was Houston's only run of the game. Last year's World Series MVP is now on a four-game hit streak as he looks to recapture his elite October form. The shortstop is slashing .240/.301/.452 through 26 games played.
