Turner (back) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game versus the Rockies.

Turner will make his first start since Opening Day, as he's been battling lower-back spasms. He appeared as a pinch hitter in Monday's 6-1 win and is back in the lineup for the second game of the series Wednesday.

Holliday is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox.

With lefty Garrett Crochet on the hill for the Red Sox, the left-handed-hitting Holliday will receive his first day off this season. Jorge Mateo will start at shortstop and Jordan Westburg will cover second base for the Orioles.

Adames will start at shortstop and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Astros, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After inking a $182 million deal in free agency this winter, Adames has quickly found a home in the No. 2 spot in the lineup, batting out of that spot in the order in each of the Giants' first six games. Though the Giants head into Wednesday's contest with a 4-1 record, Adames hasn't played a big role in the team's early success thus far; he's slashing just .158/.190/.211 with three RBI and one run.

Rocchio is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in San Diego.

Rocchio will get his first day off of the season after going 3-for-15 with three singles in his first five contests. The Guardians will roll with Gabriel Arias at shortstop and Daniel Schneemann at second base for Wednesday's series finale.

Wilson is starting at shortstop and batting sixth in Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

Wilson has batted ninth in five of seven games for the Athletics this season, but this is now the second time he's been up in the six spot. The 23-year-old is 6-for-20 with one home run and two RBI in his first six contests this season and would receive a minor boost in fantasy if he starts hitting higher in the batting order regularly.

Volpe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

Volpe went deep in the fourth inning, belting a 418-foot solo shot that tied the game at 2-2. The talented young shortstop has homered in three of his first four games to the begin the campaign, though those are his only three hits across 16 at-bats. Volpe had just 12 long balls over 637 regular-season at-bats last year.

Seager is still dealing with some lingering calf soreness, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Seager's calf issue first popped up late in spring training and he has been playing through nagging soreness. The 30-year-old has received two days off so far -- including Wednesday -- and Grant suspects Seager will continue to sit out day games after night games. Seager is just 3-for-17 with zero extra-base hits in the early going this season, and it's possible the calf has contributed to the slow start.

Lindor went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

The shortstop is notorious for having slow starts at the plate, and 2025 has been no exception so far as Lindor went 0-for-11 in his first three games. Tuesday's steal was also his first of the campaign after he swiped 60 in 68 attempts over the prior two seasons combined. There's little concern with Lindor's long-term production, but his history suggests he won't begin to warm up until the weather does -- his .741 career OPS in March/April is his lowest in any month, with an .886 OPS in July being his high-water mark.

Newman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Newman will take a seat for the third time in four games as the Angels continue to take a committee approach to the shortstop spot while Zach Neto (shoulder) remains on the injured list. Nicky Lopez will draw his first start of the season at shortstop after Newman and Tim Anderson combined to go 1-for-20 with six strikeouts through the first five games.

Seager is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Seager is receiving a routine day off for Wednesday's afternoon contest. The Rangers are going with Josh Smith at shortstop and Ezequiel Duran at third base in the series finale.
