    Adames went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

    Adames failed to record a hit but reached base on two free passes and stole second in the fourth inning. The shortstop has struggled following a hot end to August, going hitless in three of his last five outings. Overall, he's slashing .228/.317/.425 with 86 runs scored, 78 RBI, 27 long balls and nine stolen bases across 603 plate appearances in 143 games this season.

    Phillies' Trea Turner: Set for MRI on Monday

    Turner is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his right hamstring in Philadelphia on Monday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

    The MRI will shed more light on the grade of the hamstring strain that Turner sustained in the seventh inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Marlins. Even if Turner receives a positive prognosis following the MRI and avoids a stint on the injured list, he's still likely to be held out of the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Mets. Edmundo Sosa started at shortstop when Turner sat out for rest purposes in Saturday's 4-2 win over Miami, so Sosa will presumably be the top choice to replace Turner in the lineup Monday.

    Red Sox's Trevor Story: Records two hits, steal in win

    Story went 2-for-3 with a double, a hit-by-pitch, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

    Story has five multi-hit efforts and five steals over his last 12 games, batting .304 (14-for-46) in that span. The shortstop continues to be effective on the basepaths with 27 steals and has still not gotten caught stealing. He's added a strong .262/.308/.436 slash line with 23 home runs, 89 RBI, 80 runs scored and 25 doubles across 140 contests.

    Marlins' Otto Lopez: Goes deep twice in win

    Lopez went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Sunday's 5-4 victory over the Phillies.

    The Marlins shortstop batted cleanup and produced his first career multi-homer performance in this contest. Lopez slugged a 424-foot, three-run homer off Philadelphia starter Taijuan Walker in the first before returning in the seventh to launch a 417-foot solo shot off reliever Jose Alvarado. The 26-year-old has been hot over his last 17 games dating back to Aug. 18, batting .306 (19-for-62) with three homers, 14 RBI and eight runs scored.

    Phillies' Trea Turner: Dealing with hamstring strain

    Turner was removed from Sunday's game against the Marlins due to a right hamstring strain, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

    The veteran shortstop suffered the injury during the seventh inning while running to first base, and he exited the contest after reaching on an error. Turner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run prior to departing, but his availability for the playoff push is now in question due to the injury.

    Angels' Zach Neto: Receiving rare day off

    Neto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

    Neto will be getting a rare day off in the series finale, as he had previously started in each of the Angels' last 59 contests. With Neto resting, Oswald Peraza will cover shortstop, and designated hitter Mike Trout will move from the No. 2 spot into the leadoff role.

    Hernaiz will take a seat for the series finale after he went 5-for-18 with a double, four walks, a stolen base and four runs while starting in each of the previous five games. Brett Harris will cover third base in Hernaiz's stead Sunday.

    Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Houston.

    With lefty Framber Valdez on the hill for the Astros, the left-handed-hitting Smith will get the day off after starting in each of the previous seven games. Ezequiel Duran will cover shortstop in Smith's stead.

    Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Receiving rare day off

    Bichette is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

    Bichette started the previous 55 contests and will receive a break Sunday after going 9-for-19 with four doubles and two homers in the first five games of September. He appeared to get a bit banged up during Saturday's contest on a slide into home plate, though no injury has been announced and the shortstop never exited the contest. Monday's team off day will provide Bichette with two consecutive days to rest ahead of a stretch of a stretch of 13 games in 13 days.
