Mondesi is out of the lineup Sunday against the Twins due to a pinched nerve in his shoulder, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports.

Manager Ned Yost relayed that Mondesi sustained the injury while diving for a ball in Friday's series opener. The Royals exercised caution by holding Mondesi out of the starting nine Saturday and Sunday, but it doesn't appear that there's much concern the 23-year-old will require a trip to the disabled list. Alcides Escobar will fill in at shortstop while Mondesi recovers from the issue.

DeJong is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Pirates, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

DeJong will be withheld from the starting nine for the second time in four games, with his 2-for-27 performance at the plate over the past week likely the cause of his benchings. The Cardinals won't pull the plug on a player that signed a six-year, $26 million extension back in March, so DeJong should have a long leash as the team's primary shortstop.

Turner is not in the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Reds, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

Turner has started the last 10 games for the Nationals -- hitting .298/.340/.511 with five extra-base hits and eight stolen bases -- but will take a seat against Reds starter Luis Castillo. Wilmer Difo will start at shortstop and bat ninth for the Nationals on Sunday.

Ahmed went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a walk, four RBI and three runs Saturday in the Diamondbacks' 9-3 win over the Giants.

With 12 home runs and 35 extra-base hits in the first half, Ahmed had already locked up a career-best season in terms of power production, but he's only enhanced his slugging output since the All-Star break. Through 15 games out of the break, Ahmed has supplied four home runs, four doubles and a triple to go along with a whopping 19 RBI. The season-ending injury to Jake Lamb (shoulder) ensures that new acquisition Eduardo Escobar won't threaten Ahmed's role as the everyday shortstop, giving the latter a fairly stable fantasy outlook for the rest of the 2018.

Correa went 1-for-3 with a solo home run for Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday.

Correa played the second game of his rehabilitation assignment, going seven innings at shortstop in each contest. The organization hasn't provided an estimate of how many plate appearances it wants Correa to get while in the minors -- he's had seven so far -- but the shortstop could return at some point this week if there are no setbacks.

Story went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Saturday against the Brewers.

Story took Freddy Peralta and Matt Albers deep Saturday, bumping his home run total up to 23 on the season. He's enjoyed his time at Miller Park, homering three times in the first two games of the weekend set. Those home runs were his first since the All-Star break, but the Rockies return to Coors Field on Monday, so he may continue his hot stretch.

Gordon is not in the lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays, potentially due to the ankle injury he suffered Thursday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Gordon was pulled from Thursday's game after twisting his right ankle. He started Friday but was reportedly still sore. He'll sit Saturday, with Andrew Romine starting at second base.

Anderson has been playing through knee soreness, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The knee soreness could partially explain the Tuesday's incident in which Anderson was pulled for not hustling. The White Sox are nowhere near the playoff race, so they could choose to send Anderson to the disabled list to play it safe, but given that they keep running him out there, no such move seems imminent.

Mondesi is not in the lineup Saturday against the Twins.

Mondesi is hitting .313 in nine games since coming back from a four-game absence on the family medical emergency list. He'll sit Saturday with Alcides Escobar getting the start at shortstop.

Arcia remains out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Arcia possesses one of the better gloves in the majors at shortstop, but his bat remains a significant detriment to his playing time. Saturday marks his second straight absence from the lineup and it could become more frequent moving forward following the Brewers' acquisition of Jonathan Schoop at the trade deadline. Hernan Perez will replace Arcia at shortstop and bat ninth Saturday.
