DeJong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Athletics on Sunday.

DeJong went down on strikes in his other three at-bats, but he extended a modest hitting streak to three games by launching a 418-foot shot to left in the fourth inning off Tanner Roark to open the scoring for either club. DeJong is now 6-for-12 with a double, Sunday's round tripper and two RBI over his first three games of August.

Gordon (quadriceps) could be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Padres without requiring a rehab assignment beforehand, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Gordon experienced no issues with his strained left quad muscle while running on the bases Sunday, offering some optimism that he might be able to come off the IL early next week. The Mariners may want to see Gordon complete another workout during Monday's off day before making a formal decision on whether he'll rejoin the big club immediately or head out to the farm for a game or two.

Story went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, a double, two runs scored and two walks in Sunday's 6-2 win over San Francisco.

Story has now left the yard in three straight contests to start August, raising his OPS from .877 to .909 during that span. The 26-year-old shortstop has 25 homers and 63 RBI this season as he looks for another top-10 NL MVP finish.

Swanson (foot) will receive treatment in Atlanta during the next few days, and he's not expected to be reinstated from the injured list before the Braves' weekend series with the Marlins, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Swanson was initially optimistic about his chances of returning from a bruised foot after the 10-day minimum, but it looks as though he could spend another week on the shelf while receiving treatment. The Braves should have a better idea on a timetable for his return later in the week.

Lindor went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a walk Sunday against the Angels.

Lindor cranked a solo homer to center in the third inning, and he tacked on an insurance run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly. He ended the weekend series on a high note, hitting home runs in back-to-back contests while registering five RBI over that brief stretch.

Ahmed went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two additional runs Saturday in the Diamondbacks' 18-7 win over the Nationals.

Ahmed was one of several Arizona hitters to tee off Saturday, with his performance spelling to an emphatic end to a brief five-game skid in which he went 2-for-17 with one RBI and one run. He'll be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, occupying shortstop and batting seventh.

Edman will start in right field and bat eighth Sunday against the Athletics.

With Matt Carpenter (foot) returning from the 10-day injured list Sunday, Edman's run as the Cardinals' leadoff man -- at least against right-handed pitching -- looks like it could come to an end. Though there will be room for both Carpenter and Edman in Sunday's lineup, the rookie could be squeezed out against right-handers when no designated hitter is available. Expect Jose Martinez, who will serve as the DH on Sunday, to see most of the action in right field when the Cardinals resume National League play during the upcoming week.

Crawford is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Rockies, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Crawford suffered a jammed shoulder Thursday but was in the lineup the last two contests, going 1-for-9 with one run scored and two RBI. Donovan Solano will start at shortstop and bat leadoff Sunday in his stead.

If the first two games of August are any indication, DeJong may be in for a resurgent month at the plate. With his second straight multi-hit outing Saturday, the formerly slumping shortstop is 5-for-8 with a double, an RBI and two runs in the two games he's played since the calendar flipped. The quick surge has already given an eight-point boost to his batting average, which had sunk to .247 as a result of a month of July when he hit just .205.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Marlins.

Adames has mashed four of his 14 home runs on the season in the last six games, a welcome sight for fantasy managers who stuck with him through his extended slump coming out of the All-Star break. He'll remain in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, manning shortstop while batting ninth, per Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network.
