  • Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Falls back into bench role

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets.

D'Arnaud was off to a hot start during his tenure with the Braves, but has fizzled out of late and has seems to have lost his starting job to Adonis Garcia, who will start for the third straight game. Furthermore, Jace Peterson seems to have settled in as the Braves' everyday option at second baseman and as their leadoff hitter, closing off another avenue to playing time for d'Arnaud.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Not in Sunday's lineup

Ahmed is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rockies.

Ahmed will effectively sit for the third time in four games, giving way to Jean Segura at shortstop with Brandon Drury at second. A .576 OPS simply isn't cutting it for Ahmed, so look for him to continue to lose playing time until he shows signs of turning things around (if he even gets that chance).

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Not in Sunday's lineup

Baez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins.

Baez has made it into the starting lineup for four straight games (at three separate positions), but he'll take a seat for Sunday's afternoon matchup with Jose Fernandez and the Marlins. The young infielder was 0-for-4 with a strikeout Saturday to snap a two-game hitting streak, and is batting .268 in the month of June.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Enjoys four-hit day in Friday loss

Seager went 4-for-5 with a double, RBI and run in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Pirates.

The 22-year-old phenom hit a run-scoring single in the fifth inning as part of an effort that extended his hitting streak to eight games. Seager also has multi-hit appearances in five of his last six contests and has his impressive June line up to .349/.409/.663 with seven home runs over 83 at-bats.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Out of lineup Friday

Ahmed is out of the lineup again Friday against the Rockies.

Ahmed got the day off Thursday and will be out of the lineup again Friday, as Jean Segura will leadoff at shortstop and Phil Gosselin is stationed at second. Throughout the 2016 season, Ahmed is batting .211/.258/.313 with four home runs and 19 RBI.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Out of lineup Friday

Story is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Story will be getting a day off as Cristhian Adames gets the start at shortstop. The 23-year-old has started the past 13 games for the Rockies and is having another solid month for the club, batting .273/.341/.494 with four home runs and 12 RBI in June.

  • Ruddy Giron SS | SD

Padres' Ruddy Giron: Disappointing in Single-A

Giron is batting just .180 with only three stolen bases and no home runs through 57 games for Low-A Fort Wayne.

Giron has struggled this season after a solid 2015 where he hit .285 with nine homers as a starting shortstop in Fort Wayne. He'll need to show drastic improvement in order to advance through the minors and fulfill his potential.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Returns to lineup

Rojas is penciled in at second base, batting eighth, against the Cubs on Thursday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas returns to the Marlins lineup, replacing Derek Dietrich, who is getting a day off with lefty Jon Lester on the mound for the Cubs. Rojas will look to reverse his fortunes this month as he's batted 5-for-32 (.156) since June 1.

  • Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Not in lineup Thursday

D'Arnaud is not in the Braves starting lineup Thursday. Adonis Garcia will get the start at third base.

The 29-year-old has been struggling of late, hitting only .213 with 10 strikeouts over the last 14 days. On the season, d'Arnaud has yet to hit a home run and only has five RBI in 122 at-bats. Despite his struggles hitting for power, d'Arnaud has been able to get on base consistently, posting 11 doubles and an OBP of .348 on the season.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Out of Thursday's lineup

Crawford is out of the lineup Thursday against the Pirates.

The Giants are giving their shortstop a rest day for Thursday's day game, along with fellow veterans Brandon Belt and Angel Pagan. Crawford has done pretty much exactly what any reasonable person would have expected from him this year, hitting .263 with six homers, 28 runs, 42 RBI and three steals through 71 games. Ramiro Pena will start at shortstop and hit sixth Thursday.
