Tucupita Marcano 2B | SD
Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Takes seat Wednesday
Marcano is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
With southpaw Rich Hill on the mound for Boston, the lefty-hitting Marcano will head to the bench, ending a stretch of six consecutive starts. Marcano went 4-for-21 with a double, a walk, a stolen base, three runs and two RBI over that stretch, and he should have a good chance at holding down a near-everyday role at either second base or in left field for the foreseeable future.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Edman isn't starting Wednesday against the Rockies, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Edman started the last four games and went 3-for-14 with a homer, a double, a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Nolan Gorman will shift to the keystone while Brendan Donovan serves as the designated hitter Wednesday.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Sits for day game
Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
With Rojas getting some maintenance for the afternoon game, Joey Wendle will shift over from third base to shortstop, opening up the hot corner for Jon Berti. Rojas has posted a lowly .488 OPS through 13 games in August and could see more frequent off days down the stretch while the 52-65 Marlins shift their focus to finding playing time for younger players.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Crushes sixth homer
Crawford went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 2-1 win against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Crawford and the entirety of San Francisco's offense was held in check until the shortstop aided a seventh-inning rally with a walk and ultimately connected on a walkoff two-run home run in the ninth off Ian Kennedy. The 35-year-old has been hot thus far in August, slashing .296/.433/.481 with three extra-base hits, though the long ball was his first since June 3.

Tucupita Marcano 2B | SD
Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Shifts back up order
Marcano went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Marcano briefly got some looks atop the Pirates' order earlier in August, and he returned to the position Tuesday. He contributed to a rally in the eighth inning, reaching base on a walk prior to coming around to score on a double by Ben Gamel. Marcano has appeared in the lineup for six consecutive games, though he is hitting only .190 with two RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in that span.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Snaps power drought
Edman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.
Edman hadn't gone yard in over two months -- his last homer was June 14. Over the 48 games in between homers, he hit a meager .217 with 10 doubles, nine stolen bases, 12 RBI and 20 runs scored. The switch hitter isn't known for big power numbers, but he's usually a little more productive at hitting for contact. For the season, Edman sports a .256/.318/.370 slash line with eight long balls, 39 RBI, 72 runs scored, 24 stolen bases, 19 doubles and three triples in 111 games.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Swipes 30th bag
Berti pinch ran Tuesday and stole a base in a 4-3 win over San Diego.
Berti entered the game in the eighth inning and ran for Garrett Cooper. It was his 30th stolen base in 34 attempts this season. The 32-year-old had played in four straight games since returning from the injured list after a groin issue, although he was out of the starting nine Tuesday. He's likely to continue to get regular playing time down the stretch for Miami as he has a .268/.356/.373 line and can play multiple positions.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Marlins' Joey Wendle: Idle against lefty
Wendle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
The lefty-hitting Wendle will take a seat with southpaw Sean Manaea toeing the rubber for San Diego. Charles Leblanc will check in for Wendle at third base, while shortstop Miguel Rojas spells Wendle as the Marlins' leadoff man.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Gets Tuesday off
Berti is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Though his absence from the lineup is somewhat surprising with the left-handed Sean Manaea taking the hill for San Diego, the righty-hitting Berti looks like he'll still have a clear path to at least semi-regular playing time following his recent return from the injured list. In his four starts since being activated last week, Berti has gone 4-for-17 with two doubles and a stolen base, his 29th of the season. Despite missing nearly a month of game action, Berti still leads all of baseball in steals.

Luke Williams SS | ATL
Marlins' Luke Williams: Playing time picks up
Williams will start at second base and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Padres, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Williams will make his fourth start in five games Tuesday, but his inclusion in the lineup is likely a byproduct of southpaw Sean Manaea taking the hill for Miami. Even though his opportunities have picked up of late, the righty-hitting Williams may have a tough time finding regular starts against right-handed pitching following the recent returns of Jon Berti and Brian Anderson from the injured list.
