  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Belts first home run

Ahmed went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-5 loss to San Diego.

Ahmed hit the first of back-to-back blasts in the seventh inning for his first round-tripper of the season. So far, so good for Ahmed, who had shoulder surgery in 2022 and has hit well out of the gate. The 33-year-old shortstop is 14-for-36 (.304) with four extra-base hits, three steals, seven RBI and five runs scored. He's not yet taken a walk, which is a trait endemic to the team -- Arizona is last in MLB with 45 walks in 23 games -- but his 17.4 K% is down from 22.2 percent over the last three seasons.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Notches steal Sunday

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Mets.

Crawford has bounced back from an 0-for-14 slump by hitting safely in each of the last two games. The shortstop still has a meager .164/.250/.328 slash line while adding three home runs, two stolen bases, nine RBI and five runs scored through 68 plate appearances. He may sit against the occasional southpaw, but Crawford's still-strong defense keeps him in a near-everyday role.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Knocks three hits

DeJong went 3-for-4 with a solo homer in Sunday's win over the Mariners.

DeJong was activated for his season debut Sunday and immediately made an impact with a three-hit game. He capped the day with a solo shot off Diego Castillo in the seventh inning. DeJong posted an .899 OPS with five extra-base hits and 16 RBI during his 12-game rehab stint in the minors.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Hits second homer of season

Turner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Rockies.

Turner opened the scoring with a leadoff homer in the first, marking his second long ball of the season. Through 23 games, he has eight extra-base hits, seven RBI, 16 runs scored and four stolen bases.

  • Tommy Edman LF | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Not in Sunday's lineup

Edman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Edman started the past nine games and will take a seat Sunday for the second time this season. Paul DeJong (back) was activated from the injured list and is making his season debut for the Cardinals at shortstop.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Sits after four straight starts

Perdomo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

After turning in three straight starts in which he recorded exactly two hits while scoring a run in each of those contests, Perdomo fell back to earth in Saturday's 5-3 loss, going hitless in four at-bats. Nick Ahmed will get the nod at shortstop Sunday in his stead, but Perdomo still appears entrenched as the Diamondbacks' preferred option at the position when Arizona faces right-handed pitching.

  • Tommy Edman LF | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Homers, swipes bag in loss

Edman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in a loss to Seattle on Saturday.

Edman's homer brought the Cardinals to within a run in the ninth inning, though it proved to be the team's final hit of the game. The long ball was the second in a span of three games for Edman, a stretch during which he's gone 5-for-11 with four extra-base hits and six RBI. Edman had been cold in his six contests prior to the three-game pickup, going 3-for-20 without an extra-base hit.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Hits three-run homer in first

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 7-4 victory over the Mets.

Crawford extended the Giants' lead to 4-0 with a three-run homer in the first inning, marking his third long ball of the season. The shortstop currently sports an abysmal .158 batting average and has 18 strikeouts to just seven walks through 16 games (64 plate appearances).

  • Edwin Arroyo 2B | CIN

Reds' Edwin Arroyo: Healthy again at High-A

Arroyo (hip) has gone 3-for-12 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and three runs in three games since being reinstated from High-A Dayton's 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Arroyo missed about a week and a half of action due to the left hip strain before returning to the Louisville lineup Tuesday. The 19-year-old switch-hitting infielder is in his first full season in the Cincinnati organization after he was part of the three-prospect package the Reds took back in a deal with Seattle for Luis Castillo at last summer's trade deadline.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Likely to be activated Sunday

DeJong (back) will join the Cardinals in Seattle on Sunday and will likely be activated off the injured list, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

DeJong has been out for the entirety of the season so far while recovering from his back injury. The 29-year-old will likely be back on the roster for the finale against the Mariners, and he should serve in a utility role while he's a member of the club.
