  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Launches fifth homer

Mondesi went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Astros.

His fifth-inning blast off Gerrit Cole briefly gave the Royals their only lead of the game at 4-3. Mondesi has been displaying plenty of power lately -- seven of his nine hits (three doubles, two triples, two homers) over the last eight games have gone for extra bases -- and he now boasts a .280/.314/.531 slash line on the year with five home runs, 10 steals, 22 runs and 32 RBI through 35 games, justifying the early investment many fantasy GMs made in him at the draft table.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: On bench Monday

Adames is not starting Monday against the Diamondbacks, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Adames started the season 1-for-27 with 14 strikeouts in his first 17 games, but he's hit .286/.360/.416 since that point. Daniel Robertson gets the start in his place.

  • Rays' Andrew Velazquez: Called up from Triple-A

The Rays recalled Velazquez from Triple-A Durham on Monday.

Velazquez has seen action at all three outfield spots and three infield positions at Durham this season, so he'll offer some defensive versatility off the bench while he's up with the big club. The 24-year-old was previously up with the Rays for a brief time in April but didn't see any game action.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Opens scoring Sunday

Correa went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

Correa's second-inning homer, his seventh, answered the Angels' run in the bottom of the first. It also extended his hitting streak to 15 games, during which he's slashing .306/.343/.629 with five homers, five doubles, 13 RBI and nine runs scored. The career .278-hitter is up to .291 over 117 at-bats.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Belts another homer

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a grand slam Sunday against the White Sox.

Bogaerts' lone hit of the day was a big one, as he extended the lead to five in the eighth inning with a grand slam to left field. The 26-year-old has now homered in back-to-back games, giving him six home runs and 22 RBI through 33 contests.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Royals' Chris Owings: Losing out on playing time

Owings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Owings finds himself on the bench for a second straight day and may be on the outs for a full-time role in the wake of Kelvin Gutierrez's emergence. With the hot-hitting Gutierrez drawing his ninth straight start at third base, Hunter Dozier has settled in at designated hitter while Jorge Soler shifts to right field, leaving no room in the lineup for Owings.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Hits two-run blast

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer and walk in a 15-2 victory over the White Sox on Saturday.

With the Red Sox scoring 15 runs, it's a little disappointing Bogaerts didn't have more than one hit, but he did go deep during a nine-run third inning. Bogaerts is just 5-for-25 in his last six games, but three of those hits went for extra bases. Overall, he is batting .267 with five home runs, 18 RBI and 21 runs in 120 at-bats this season.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Back on track

Mondesi went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs scored, three RBI and two walks in Saturday's 15-2 win over the Tigers.

Mondesi went 0-for-8 with five strikeouts over the last two contests but got back on track as he reached base four times Saturday. The 23-year-old is slashing .284/.320/.522 with four home runs and 10 stolen bases over 33 games.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: Reaches thrice in win

Adames went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs in a win over the Orioles on Friday.

Adames continued to make noise out of the bottom of the order, extending his hot start to the new month in the process. Adames is 5-for-11 with a double, two RBI, a walk and three runs over the first three games of May, raising his season average 28 points over that stretch.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Productive in low-scoring loss

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the Indians on Friday.

Gordon led off and produced one of only two multi-hit efforts for the Mariners. The speedy keeper of the keystone is now slashing .304/.331/.400 over 126 plate appearances following his third multi-hit tally in four games, and he's logged an impressive 90.0 percent success rate on his 10 stolen-base attempts thus far.
