Twins' Brooks Lee: Rehab moving to Triple-A
The Twins transferred Lee's (back) rehab assignment to Triple-A St. Paul, and he's starting at second base and batting second in Tuesday's game, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
The 24-year-old will move his rehab assignment to the highest level of the minors after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his one appearance with Single-A Fort Myers. Lee played seven innings defensively in that game and will likely need to play a few full games in the field before being cleared to join the Twins.

Kevin McGonigle SS | DET
Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Lands on injured list
High-A West Michigan placed McGonigle (ankle) on its 7-day injured list Tuesday.
McGonigle suffered an ankle injury in his season debut Friday and will miss some time as a result. The infielder missed extended action to close out the 2024 season while recovering from a broken hand.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Swipes two bags in victory
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, two runs and two stolen bases in Monday's 5-1 win against the Diamondbacks.
Henderson had gone just 1-for-13 with seven strikeouts over three games after being activated off the injured list April 4, but he broke out of that slump with his two-hit performance Monday. The talented young shortstop padded his stat line with a pair of thefts, while the double was his first extra-base hit of the campaign. Henderson belted 37 homers and stole 21 bases during the regular season last year, so it's reasonable to expect his initial struggles to be temporary.

Trey Sweeney SS | DET
Tigers' Trey Sweeney: Sitting against left-hander
Sweeney is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Yankees.
Southpaw Carlos Rodon is on the hill for the Yankees, so the left-handed hitting Sweeney will grab a seat. Javier Baez is at shortstop and batting sixth Monday.

Danny De Andrade SS | MIN
Twins' Danny De Andrade: Healthy to begin 2025 season
De Andrade (ankle) has appeared in each of High-A Cedar Rapids' first three games of the season, going 4-for-9 with a double and a run.
De Andrade didn't play after the middle of May last season while he recovered from a left ankle sprain, but he's entered the 2025 campaign with a clean bill of health.

Kevin McGonigle SS | DET
Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Suffers ankle injury
McGonigle suffered an ankle injury and is expected to miss time, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
The severity of the injury hasn't been determined, according to the report. McGonigle was 2-for-5 with two doubles in his first game for High-A West Michigan. His 2024 season was cut short in early August due to a broken hand that required surgery.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Swats first homer of 2025
Seager went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Rays.
Seager pushed the Rangers ahead in the sixth with a solo shot to right for his first home run and first extra base hit of the year. The lefty slugger has just two hits over his last 16 at-bats and a .179 batting average in the early going.

Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Swipes bag in loss
Walls went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Rangers.
Walls led off the fifth with a base knock and stole second for his second theft of the year. Walls has just three hits in 26 plate appearances thus far, as his hitting woes from past seasons have carried over into 2025 early on.

Brooks Lee SS | MIN
Twins' Brooks Lee: Starts up rehab assignment
Lee (back) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and played seven innings at shortstop Sunday in his first rehab game with Single-A Fort Myers.
A lumbar strain forced Lee to the 10-day injured list prior to Opening Day, but now that he's started up a rehab assignment, he could be ready to make his return to the Twins around the middle of April. Expect Lee to eventually shift his assignment to Triple-A St. Paul, and he'll likely get some exposure to two or three different infield spots before Minnesota signs off on him making his MLB season debut. Second base or third base look to be Lee's most likely avenues to seeing consistent at-bats with the big club, as both Jose Miranda and Edouard Julien have gotten off to slow starts to the season at the plate.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Angels' Kevin Newman: Losing out on playing time
Newman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.
With just one hit through his first 13 at-bats of the season, Newman has begun to lose playing time and will now hit the bench for the third time in four games. Tim Anderson will draw a second straight start at shortstop and seems to have at least temporarily leapfrogged Newman on the depth chart.
