The 25-year-old rookie appears to have worn down over the long season, as he sports a 6.67 ERA over 60.2 innings post-All-Star break. Brown will look to right the ship in his last start of the regular season, currently scheduled to be at Arizona.

Michael Wacha SP | KC

Wacha rolled through six shutout frames before the Cardinals finally broke through with two runs in the seventh inning. The Padres had already provided 12 runs of support before then. Wacha earned his second straight win and lowered his season ERA to 3.39 across 127.1 frames. However, he owns a 5.54 ERA in five September outings. After his first career scoreless start, Rom has been tagged with 11 earned runs in just 6.2 innings over his last two outings. His ERA has shot up to 7.98 through 29.1 MLB frames. Rom is currently lined up to finish his 2023 campaign with a home matchup against the Reds.

Edward Cabrera SP | CHC
Marlins' Edward Cabrera: Solid in seventh win
Cabrera (7-7) earned the win Sunday against Milwaukee, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.
After struggling in a recent outing against the Brewers on Sept. 12 in which he allowed six walks, Cabrera displayed much better control and was able to secure the win Sunday. Since being recalled Sept. 6, the 25-year-old pitcher has a 1.89 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB in 19 innings over four starts. He has allowed two or fewer walks in three of those four outings. Cabrera's last start of the season is currently scheduled to be on the road against Pittsburgh.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Mashed in loss
Peralta (12-10) took the loss Sunday, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over three innings against Miami. He struck out four.
The Marlins peppered Peralta for nine hits, equaling his season high last given up April 15 against San Diego. The results Sunday were highly unusual as the Brewers starting pitcher had produced a 2.42 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 99:16 K:BB over 70.2 innings in the second half before this outing. Perhaps the Marlins were able to take advantage of Peralta's average fastball velocity sitting at 93.5 mph, down a tick from its normal 94.5 mph. He'll look to bounce back in his final start of the season, currently scheduled to be at home against the Cubs.

Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
White Sox's Mike Clevinger: Earns win in rain-shortened outing
Clevinger (9-8) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits over six innings against the Red Sox. He didn't record a strikeout.
While he failed to log a strikeout Sunday, Clevinger held the Red Sox to just two runs on a pair of solo homers, earning the win in a rain-shortened affair. The 32-year-old Clevinger has been pitching well recently, allowing two runs or fewer in each of his last four outings with a 1.61 ERA in that span (28 innings). He'll carry a 3.40 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 108 strikeouts into his final start this season, currently scheduled for next weekend against San Diego.

Kyle Gibson SP | BAL
Orioles' Kyle Gibson: Earns 15th win
Gibson (15-9) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over seven innings against the Guardians. He struck out four.
Gibson scattered six baserunners over seven strong innings, with the only damage to his line coming on an RBI groundout by Kole Calhoun in the fourth. Following a rough August that saw him allow 26 runs in 29.2 innings, Gibson has now allowed 8 runs in 24.1 September innings. He'll likely have one more chance to make a case at earning a role in the Orioles' postseason rotation with a start scheduled to take place next weekend at home against the Red Sox.

Allan Winans SP | NYY
Braves' Allan Winans: Solid in loss
Winans (1-2) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings, taking the loss in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader versus the Nationals.
Winans did fine in this outing, but Atlanta's offense didn't supply enough run support. He's kept opponents to two runs or fewer in four of his five major-league starts this season. The right-hander is at a 4.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 32:6 K:BB through 27 innings. With Charlie Morton (finger) on the injured list, Winans may be able to pick up one more start in the regular season, which would be tentatively set as a rematch at home against the Nationals.

Rutledge (1-1) allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.
Rutledge turned in a second straight solid performance, keeping Atlanta's high-powered offense in check. After allowing seven runs over 3.2 innings in his debut, he's given up just three runs across his last 11.1 innings. The right-hander also sports an 8:4 K:BB at the major-league level this year. Rutledge is tentatively lined up for one more outing, which would be a rematch in Atlanta next weekend.
