Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Gives up four earned in no-decision
Kershaw threw six innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Monday, giving up four earned runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking one in the Dodgers' 8-5 defeat.
Like counterpart Zack Greinke, Kershaw gave up three runs in the first inning, but managed to bounce back and make it through six frames and limit the damage to four earned. He did a nice job to rebound from the rough start, although the two strikeouts were a season-low total. Kershaw will take a 3.07 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP and a 75:15 K:BB through 85 innings into his next start, which will pit him against the Rockies at Coors Field on Saturday.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Could return Sunday
Syndergaard (hamstring) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with short-season Brooklyn on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Syndergaard has been on the injured list since June 16 with a right hamstring strain, though his stay on the shelf was never expected to be a lengthy one. The hope is that Syndergaard will be ready to return after just one rehab start, which would put him on track to rejoin New York's rotation as early as Sunday against the Braves.

Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Debut tabbed for Wednesday
Manager Dave Roberts said Gonsolin will start Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Gonsolin is set to make his big-league debut after notching a 2.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB in eight starts (26 innings) with Triple-A Oklahoma City. It remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old flamethrower will stick in the rotation beyond Wednesday's start. Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Resumes mound work
Hendricks (shoulder) threw lightly off a mound Monday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
This is an encouraging step for Hendricks, who threw 15 pitches in what was his first mound session since landing on the injured list with a shoulder impingement. Per Wittenmyer, the right-hander is expected to progress to a full bullpen session later in the week. Hendricks is hoping to return sometime around the All-Star break.
