David Peterson SP | CHC
Mets' David Peterson: Testing shoulder Sunday
Peterson (shoulder) will throw a side session Sunday and if all goes well, he will make his scheduled start Tuesday in Miami, David Lennon of Newsday reports.
He only threw 74 pitches in his last start after experiencing some shoulder soreness but said after the outing that it was nothing to worry about. The Mets' rotation depth has been tested early and often, so Peterson's spot in the rotation is locked in as long as he is healthy.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: TBD for next start
The Mets have not yet decided whether Matz will remain in the rotation for his next scheduled start Thursday against the Marlins, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
He has a 14.66 ERA and 1.97 WHIP over his last three starts. If the Mets had quality options behind Matz, he would have likely already been bumped from the rotation, but the team's rotation depth has really been tested so far this season.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Lasts 4.2 innings Saturday
Buehler didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's contest between the Dodgers and the Angels. He allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and one walk while fanning five across 4.2 innings.
Buehler has not been the same dominant pitcher he was in 2019, when he posted a 3.26 ERA in 30 starts. Buehler has pitched four straight no-decisions, is yet to reach the sixth inning in any of his outings, and has allowed at least two earned runs in every one of his four appearances. As a result, the 26-year-old righty owns a 5.21 ERA in 19 innings ahead of his next scheduled start against the Rockies at home Aug. 21.

Cal Quantrill RP | TEX
Padres' Cal Quantrill: No-decision Saturday
Quantrill didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's contest between the Padres and the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on five hits and one walk while fanning five across 3.2 innings.
Quantrill's first start of the season was a short-lived appearance, perhaps as expected considering he had come out of the bullpen in his three previous appearances, but he got the job done and kept his team in the game before departing with one out to go in the fourth inning. Quantrill has been effective with a 2.92 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 12.1 innings this season, but he is expected to return to the bullpen soon.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Giants' Kevin Gausman: Strikes out 11 in no-decision
Gausman did not factor in the decision against Oakland on Saturday, hurling 5.2 innings and allowing three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out 11.
Gausman was somewhat wild in the outing -- he more than doubled his season total with three walks and threw only 62 of 106 pitches for strikes -- but he also induced 19 swinging strikes and notched a season-high 11 whiffs. He was stung by a pair of home runs in the contest but kept the Giants in the game against the first-place Athletics. The right-hander sports a 4.21 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 34:5 K:BB through 25.2 innings. His next start is lined up for Thursday at home against the Angels.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Drops result versus Rangers
Marquez (2-3) gave up three runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday.
Marquez allowed the leadoff batter to reach base in four of his six innings Saturday, He was fairly generous with baserunners in general -- his combined 11 hits and walks were the most he's allowed in his five starts this season. The right-hander has a 2.25 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 30 strikeouts in 32 innings. He'll look to avoid a third straight loss when he faces the Astros on Thursday.

Jake Woodford RP | TB
Cardinals' Jake Woodford: Strong in debut
Woodford allowed one hit and no walks while striking out three across three innings in the second game of a doubleheader against the White Sox on Saturday. He did not factor into decision.
Woodford made his major-league debut and appeared poised on the mound, allowing only a solo home run to Luis Robert. He was yanked after throwing 34 pitches, though it's unclear how far Woodford has been stretched out. With plenty of doubleheaders on the docket for the Cardinals, Woodford could be in line to open in bullpen games going forward.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Takes first loss
Corbin (2-1) took the loss versus the Orioles on Saturday. He gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk and struck out two in five innings.
Saturday's five-inning effort was Corbin's shortest outing of the year. The southpaw's ERA inflated to 3.91 with a 1.17 WHIP and 22:4 K:BB in 23 innings this season. Corbin's been fairly steady in 2020 -- he'll look to get back in the win column Friday versus the Marlins.
