Gomber (9-7) took the loss Friday as Colorado fell 5-4 to San Francisco, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings.

Gomber started on a sour note by permitting four runs in the first inning, though he only surrendered one more over his next three innings, and he wound up in the loss column when Colorado's ninth-inning rally came up short. The lefty has pitched adequately this season with a 4.09 ERA but he'll need to improve his consistency to become a reliable fantasy option given he's averaging less than 5.1 innings per start.

DeSclafani (11-5) won Friday's 5-4 victory over Colorado, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings.

Making his first start following a brief IL stint, DeSclafani limited the damage to a single run in both the second and third innings and departed with a 5-2 lead. Closer Jake McGee made things interesting in the ninth by surrendering two runs, but San Francisco was able to eke out the win. The 31-year-old DeSclafani returned to the win column for the first time in over a month.

Gray (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six in six innings to take the loss against Atlanta on Friday.

Gray limited Atlanta's offense to a single across the first four innings of Friday's matchup, but he allowed solo home runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to put him in line for his first loss of the year. Across three starts since he was traded to the Nationals, the right-hander has posted a 2.81 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 16 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next appearance on the road against Milwaukee on Friday.

Morton (11-4) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven in six innings to earn the win over the Nationals on Friday.

Morton got off to a shaky start following a lengthy rain delay Friday, as he gave up a double and a pair of singles to begin the bottom of the first inning. He then allowed a sacrifice fly before coaxing a double play to end the inning. The right-hander was forced to settle for a loss and a no-decision in his last two starts, but across his first three outings in August, Morton has posted a 2.00 ERA and 0.89 WHIP in 18 innings. He tentatively lines up to make his next start on the road against Miami on Wednesday.

Flaherty (9-1) allowed two hits over six shutout innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over Kansas City.

Making his first appearance since May 31 after a lengthy stint on the injured list with an oblique issue, Flaherty didn't miss a beat. He gave up just two singles through six scoreless innings and never let a Royal reach scoring position. The 25-year-old righty now owns a 2.65 ERA and a 72:20 K:BB through 68 innings this season. Flaherty is projected to face the Brewers at home next week.

Mahle (10-3) earned the win Friday over Philadelphia. He threw seven scoreless innings while allowing three hits and zero walks while striking out seven.

The right-hander was excellent, logging his third quality start and third win in his last four outings. Mahle has allowed three or fewer baserunners in just two of his 24 starts, the other being May 30 against the Cubs. He's posted a 3.58 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 155:45 K:BB through 130.2 innings this season. The 26-year-old projects to make his next start against the Cubs next week.

Wheeler (10-7) took the loss Friday versus Cincinnati. He allowed four runs on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings.

The right-hander surrendered home runs to Joey Votto in the fourth inning and Nick Castellanos in the sixth, making this the second of his 24 starts in which Wheeler has been taken deep multiple times. The rough start bumped his ERA up to 2.56 with a 0.99 WHIP and 187:35 K:BB through 162 innings. Wheeler has given up four or more runs in five of his last seven starts, but he's managed to amass a 4-3 record in that span. He lines up for a favorable road start in Arizona his next time out.

Keller and the Pirates won't play against the Brewers on Friday after the contest was postponed due to inclement weather, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Friday's contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday. Right-hander Bryse Wilson will start the first game of the twin bill, while Keller will take the mound in the nightcap, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Lodolo won't make his scheduled start at Triple-A Louisville on Sunday due to left shoulder fatigue, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Lodolo has made two starts since he was promoted to Triple-A Louisville last week, and he allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven in 5.2 innings during that time. It's not clear how long the southpaw's shoulder injury will keep him sidelined.

Gonsolin (shoulder) began a throwing program Aug. 9 and could throw a bullpen session at some point this weekend, per MLB.com.

The right-hander played catch Monday for the first time since landing on the injured list July 31, and manager Dave Roberts indicated that he could be ready to toss a bullpen session in New York in the coming days. Roberts also indicated that Gonsolin will both pitch simulated games and go on a rehab assignment prior to returning to the big club, so he likely remains weeks away from a return. When Gonsolin is ready to rejoin the Dodgers, the team will evaluate whether he will work as a starter or a reliever.
