Snell (7-6) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Angels despite tossing seven innings of two-run ball, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out 11.

Snell had an excellent outing and tossed 70 of his 100 pitches for strikes while posting double-digit strikeouts for the third straight start. However, he was the victim of poor run support since the Padres only mustered four hits throughout the entire game. It's worth noting that Snell has tossed at least seven frames while allowing two or fewer runs in each of his last three starts, a span in which he's also posted an excellent 31:4 K:BB across 21.2 innings.

Gallen (2-9) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Rangers after allowing three runs on six hits while fanning eight across 6.2 innings.

Gallen has dropped each of his last two decisions, but the issue has been the lack of run support rather than him struggling on the mound. He has given up three or fewer runs in four straight appearances while also posting three quality starts over that span, leading to a solid 3.92 ERA since the beginning of August (seven starts).

Cabrera didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Mets, giving up four runs on one hit and four walks over 2.1 innings. He struck out one.

It was a brutal outing for the rookie, as Cabrera got only 31 of 65 pitches across the plate before getting the hook. It didn't help matters that the one hit he allowed was a two-run blast by Pete Alonso. Cabrera has a 7.11 ERA and 5:7 K:BB through his first 12.2 big-league innings, but the Marlins may be willing to leave the 23-year-old in the rotation for the rest of September to get him valuable experience.

Carrasco (1-2) picked up the win in Tuesday's 9-4 victory over the Marlins, giving up four runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

The veteran right-hander didn't get much help from his defense and exited the game after 92 pitches (61 strikes) with the score tied 4-4, but the Mets made it up to him by taking the lead for good in the top of the sixth inning while Carrasco was still the pitcher of record. While his 5.88 ERA on the season looks ugly, he's lasted at least five innings in each of his last four starts, posting a 3.63 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 20:3 K:BB through 22.1 innings over that stretch.

Webb (9-3) picked up the win after tossing seven innings and giving up three runs on nine hits and striking out six against the Rockies on Tuesday. He did not issue a walk.

The 24-year-old dealt with quite a bit of traffic on the bases Tuesday, but he was able to limit the damage to only three runs. C.J. Cron drove in a run with a double in the fourth inning and the final two runs against him came around to score in the seventh inning on a Joshua Fuentes single. Webb has now logged nine consecutive quality starts while posting 1.70 ERA and a 5-0 record. He will look to make it an even 10 consecutive quality starts his next time out, tentatively set for Sunday against the Cubs in Chicago.

Lauer (5-5) earned the win Tuesday over Philadelphia. He allowed just four hits and a walk with five strikeouts across seven shutout innings.

September is treating Lauer well so far, as he's allowed just one run, seven hits and two walks across 14 innings in his two starts this month. Philadelphia couldn't get a runner past second base on the southpaw's watch Tuesday. With the stellar start, Lauer lowered his ERA to 3.18 with a 1.18 WHIP and 91:33 K:BB through 96.1 innings this season. He'll look to keep rolling next week in Detroit.

Nola (7-8) took the loss Tuesday versus Milwaukee. He allowed three runs on six hits and a hit batter while striking out six in five innings.

While the right-hander wasn't all that effective Tuesday, his Philadelphia teammates supported him with just five hits and a walk in the contest. Nola has failed to complete six innings in six of his last seven starts, with his 8.2-inning effort versus San Diego on Aug. 21 the notable exception in that span. He's posted a 4.57 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 192:35 K:BB across 157.2 innings overall. Nola projects for a home start versus Colorado this weekend.

Kershaw (forearm) allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and zero walks over three innings during his rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, and he remains on track to return from the 60-day injured list and rejoin the major-league rotation Sunday versus the Padres, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Kershaw threw 49 pitches and went through the outing with no issues -- apparently the final hurdle in his rehab before returning from the injured list. Per Plunkett, manager Dave Roberts indicated it's still "the plan" for the veteran left-hander to start for the Dodgers this weekend as long as he's able to complete a bullpen session in a couple days, which is the standard routine between starts. Kershaw figures to face some workload limitations upon his return given he only stretched out to 49 pitches Tuesday.

Fried allowed one run on six hits and four walks with five strikeouts in six innings versus Washington on Tuesday. He did not factor in the decision.

The southpaw was in line for the win despite matching his season high in walks, but reliever Tyler Matzek allowed Washington to tie the game in the seventh inning. Fried has now taken three straight no-decisions, although all have been quality starts. He's at a 3.42 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 136:39 K:BB across 136.2 innings overall. Fried remains at 11-7 heading into this weekend's projected home start versus Miami.

Miley (12-5) earned the win over the Cubs on Tuesday after firing seven innings of one-run ball. He gave up five hits and fanned eight without issuing a walk.

After St. Louis knocked Miley around for five runs on 12 hits over four innings his last time out, he responded Tuesday with one of his most dominant outings of the season. He tied a season high with the eight strikeouts, a number fueled by 21 swingings strikes on his 101 pitches. Miley is now down to a 2.89 ERA over 25 starts this season -- he had a slightly better mark with Milwaukee in 2018, but that was over just 16 starts. The southpaw projects for a road outing in Pittsburgh early next week.
