Jose Quintana SP | COL
Pirates' Jose Quintana: Fans seven for win
Quintana (2-4) gave up one earned run on six hits and no walks while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win in a 5-2 victory over the Yankees on Tuesday.
Quintana came up big against one of the most formidable lineups in baseball, garnering 10 swings and misses en route to seven strikeouts and his second win of the season. The veteran left-hander has been effective this season and now has a 3.33 ERA in 16 starts for the Pirates. Tuesday's performance marked his third quality start in a row and he will look to carry his momentum forward into his next expected start at Milwaukee on Sunday.

Andrew Heaney RP | LAD
Dodgers' Andrew Heaney: Completes bullpen session
Heaney (shoulder) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Heaney landed on the injured list June 24 with left shoulder inflammation and was briefly shut down from throwing, but he's now back on the mound and progressing toward his return. The left-hander will need at least one more bullpen session before advancing to face hitters, which will be the final hurdle before beginning a rehab assignment. Given the timing required for those steps in his rehab program, Heaney shouldn't be expected to return from the injured list prior to the All-Star break, which begins July 17.

Jason Alexander SP | HOU
Brewers' Jason Alexander: Hit hard by Cubs
Alexander (2-1) took the loss during Tuesday's 8-3 defeat at the hands of the Cubs, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
Alexander kept Chicago off the board through three innings but surrendered one run in the fourth and three apiece in the fifth and sixth to fall in line for the loss. The 29-year-old tossed 60 of 94 pitches for strikes, but only two were of the swinging variety. Alexander should stick in the rotation while Adrian Houser (elbow) is sidelined.

Ian Anderson RP | ATL
Braves' Ian Anderson: Gets back in win column
Anderson (7-5) earned the win during Tuesday's 7-1 victory over St. Louis, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
Anderson permitted three consecutive two-out hits in the first inning en route to surrendering his lone run. However, Atlanta quickly rallied for five runs in the bottom of the inning. It was a nice rebound from a poor June that featured a 6.91 ERA in six starts, though it was only the 24-year-old's second start in his last nine allowing one run or fewer. Anderson tentatively lines up for another start this weekend against Washington.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Leaves with shoulder soreness
Hendricks was removed from Tuesday's start at Milwaukee due to right shoulder soreness, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The veteran right-hander took some extra time between starts in early June due to shoulder fatigue, and it appears the issue resurfaced during Tuesday's outing. Hendricks lasted three innings before making his exit and gave up two runs on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks. According to Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago, Hendricks is scheduled to undergo an MRI, though the injury isn't believed to be serious.

Cristopher Sanchez SP | PHI
Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Promotion official
The Phillies recalled Sanchez from Triple-A Lehigh Valley ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Nationals.
Sanchez will be making his second start and ninth appearance of the season with the big club. Over his previous eight outings spanning 15.2 innings, Sanchez turned in a 4.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Making encouraging progress
Soroka (Achilles) continues throwing at Atlanta's spring training complex, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
It's not exactly clear where Soroka stands in his recovery, but he has been throwing for more than a month, and manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday that he is encouraged by what he has seen. Soroka is not ready for a rehab assignment as of yet, but it seems possible he could be soon.

Edward Cabrera SP | CHC
Marlins' Edward Cabrera: Tosses bullpen session
Cabrera (elbow) completed a 25-pitch bullpen session Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Cabrera was placed on the 15-day injured list June 15 with right elbow tendinitis, but it's been a personal matter rather than the elbow issue that has delayed his return to the active roster. The right-hander had been scheduled to start for Triple-A Jacksonville on June 22 before leaving the affiliate to address the personal situation. Cabrera's ability to complete a bullpen session suggests he's put the personal issue behind him, but he'll still need to ramp up a little more before the Marlins lock him in for another rehab start. The 24-year-old doesn't look as though he'll have enough time to make it back from the IL before the All-Star break.

Nick Lodolo SP | CIN
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Activated Tuesday
The Reds activated Lodolo (back) off the 60-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the Mets.
The rookie southpaw made only three April starts before sustaining the back injury and landing on the shelf, striking out 19 batters while turning in a 5.52 ERA and allowing three home runs across 14.2 innings. After recently wrapping up a four-game minor-league rehab assignment in which he topped out at 4.2 innings and 78 pitches, Lodolo should be sufficiently stretched out as he slots back into what is expected to be a six-man rotation for Cincinnati.

Ryan Pepiot RP | TB
Dodgers' Ryan Pepiot: Called up, will start Tuesday
The Dodgers will call up Pepiot from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Tuesday's home game against the Rockies, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Mitch White was scheduled to start, but the Dodgers will instead push him back at least one day in the schedule to clear the way for Pepiot to pick up a turn in the rotation. Over his three outings with the big club this season, Pepiot has posted a 3.18 ERA, but he's supported it with an ugly 13:11 K:BB over 11.1 innings. Walks have been a problem for Pepiot in the minors, too, as he's issued three free passes in each of his last three starts at Triple-A and 25 total in 55.2 innings in 2022.
