Gonsolin (16-1) allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Brewers.

Gonsolin also threw two wild pitches in the start. With the Dodgers up 7-1 after five innings, manager Dave Roberts elected to take the right-hander out of the game after 77 pitches (45 strikes). Considering he's now at a career-high 128.1 innings, it makes sense that the team would be cautious with him in the midst of a breakout year. Gonsolin hasn't allowed multiple runs in any of his last four starts, trimming his ERA to 2.10 with a 0.86 WHIP and 116:35 K:BB through 23 outings overall. He's tentatively projected to make his next start in Miami.

Burnes (9-6) took the loss Tuesday versus the Dodgers. He allowed seven runs on six hits, two walks and a hit batter while striking out three in 3.2 innings.

Burnes gave up at least one run in three of the four innings he appeared in during a nightmarish start against the National League's most dangerous offense. This matched his shortest outing of the year and the seven runs against were a season high. Burnes saw his ERA spike up to 2.84 with a 0.96 WHIP and 190:42 K:BB through 152.1 innings spanning 25 starts. He'll look to shake off this rough outing in his next start, tentatively set for a home date versus the Pirates next week.

Clevinger (4-5) allowed two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings, taking the loss versus the Guardians on Tuesday.

Clevinger pitched well on the whole, but he allowed solo home runs to Oscar Gonzalez and Andres Gimenez. That was enough to tag the right-hander with the loss, though this was his first quality start in four outings. Clevinger has had some uneven efforts of late, but he still sports a solid 3.59 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP and 70:26 K:BB through 80.1 innings across 16 appearances (15 starts). He's tentatively lined up for a road start in San Francisco next week, which could be a two-start week for the 31-year-old.

Carrasco (oblique) said he feels "much, much better" after throwing a bullpen session Tuesday, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Carrasco landed on the 15-day IL with a strained left oblique last week, but he didn't face a significant shutdown due to the injury. The veteran right-hander is scheduled for another bullpen session Friday, though the following step in his rehab program remains unclear. His initial recovery timeline was 3-to-4 weeks, and the quick return to mound work is a good sign he could be back in that timeframe.

Lopez (8-8) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out five over six scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday versus the Athletics.

Lopez threw 60 of 90 pitches for strikes in an effective outing, which snapped his run of four starts without a win. It was his first quality start since July 26 and his ninth such effort of the season. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.66 with a 1.16 WHIP and 136:42 K:BB through 140 innings across 25 starts. Lopez is lined up for a home start against the Dodgers in his next appearance.

Woodford (3-0) earned the win after he pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk while striking out one in the Cardinals' victory in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Cubs.

Woodford tossed five scoreless frames before running into trouble in the bottom of the sixth. Nick Madrigal drew a walk to open the inning before Rafael Ortega drove him in on a double. The start was Woodford's first of the season and he has now given up one run over his last 10 major-league innings. He now owns a 2.48 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 14 punchouts over 29 frames in 14 appearances with the Cardinals this year.

Suarez allowed three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out five in 5.2 innings in a 7-6 win Tuesday against Cincinnati. He did not factor into the decision.

Suarez held the Reds scoreless through the first five innings, scattering three hits and a walk. In the sixth he allowed three hits and three walks and was removed with two outs after three runs had scored. The four walks tied a season high for the lefty and it was the first time since June 17 that he walked more than two batters in a game. Since returning from a back injury in mid-July, the 26-year-old has a 1.54 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 38:12 K:BB while allowing one homer in 41 innings across seven starts. His next start will likely be early next week in Arizona.

Lodolo allowed four runs on three hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out five in 5.1 innings in a 7-6 loss Tuesday in Philadelphia. He did not factor into the decision.

Lodolo retired the first 11 batters he faced and did not allow a hit until the sixth inning. Things fell apart in the sixth as the rookie allowed four baserunners and each eventually came around to score. He has now hit a batter in four straight starts and 11 times in 12 starts in the majors. Through 60 big-league innings, he has a 4.35 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 77:28 K:BB.

Rodon (12-6) earned a win after he pitched seven innings, surrendering one run on five hits while striking out 10 in Tuesday's victory over the Tigers.

Rodon was in full command Tuesday, tossing six scoreless innings before the Tigers finally scratched a run across in the bottom of the seventh, accounting for all the damage against him. The left-hander registered double-digit punchouts for the second straight start and for the fourth time in six outings. Rodon has now compiled three consecutive quality starts, allowing four runs over 19 innings while striking out 28 batters over that stretch. He now owns a 2.81 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 189 strikeouts over 147.1 frames in 25 outings this season.

Houser (elbow) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday against the Dodgers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 29-year-old joined the Brewers in Los Angeles as a member of the taxi squad Monday, and he'll re-enter the starting rotation Wednesday after being sidelined nearly eight weeks by a right flexor strain. Houser was originally scheduled to throw 60-to-75 pitches in a minor-league rehab start Sunday before the change of plan, and he's likely to have a similar workload his first outing back with Milwaukee.
