Strider (14-4) picked up the win in Friday's 4-0 victory over the Giants, scattering one hit and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out 10.

The right-hander retired the first nine batters he faced before putting LaMonte Wade on with a walk to lead off the fourth inning, and that was the only frame in which Strider even let a runner get into scoring position. He generated 32 called or swinging strikes among his 97 pitches as he fanned double-digit batters for the first time in August and the 10th time this season. Strider will take a 3.57 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 227:46 K:BB through 146.1 innings into his next outing, likely to come at home next week against the Mets.

Cobb (6-5) took the loss Friday as the Giants fell 4-0 to Atlanta, giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander did keep the ball in the park, a noteworthy feat after he served up six homers in his prior three starts, but this was still another disappointing result for Cobb. He's winless in seven outings since the All-Star break, going 0-3 with a 5.73 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB through 37.2 innings, and he hasn't struck out more than four batters in any of his four trips to the mound in August. Cobb will try to turn things around in his next start, likely to come next week in Philadelphia.

Adon came away with a no-decision in Friday's 8-7 win over the Phillies, surrendering six runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

All six runs off the right-hander came in the fourth inning, but the Nats immediately got Adon off the hook for the loss in the bottom of the frame. Since moving into the rotation in August, the 25-year-old has a 7.62 ERA that isn't reflected in his 1.15 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB through 13 innings. He's next set to take the mound next weekend in Miami.

Lorenzen (7-8) took the loss Friday, coughing up seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and a walk over 3.1 innings as the Phillies fell 8-7 to the Nationals. He struck out one.

The last time Lorenzen faced the Nats, he no-hit them. This time Washington was ready, batting around in a six-run fourth inning to chase the right-hander from the game. Despite the stumble, Lorenzen still has a 3.54 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB through 20.1 innings since joining the Phillies at the trade deadline, winning two of his three starts. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next outing, likely to come at home next week against the Giants.

Lively (pectoral) allowed four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six over five innings for Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

Lively allowed a pair of home runs, but the pitch count (76) and innings were most important. He had been scheduled to throw 85 pitches in his first rehab start Sunday but only tossed 32 (19 strikes) after allowing six runs in two-thirds of an inning. This could be Lively's final rehab outing, per MLB.com, but Cincinnati manager David Bell wants to see how the right-hander feels Saturday before making any decision.

Davies (back) will make a third rehab start for Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Davies is on schedule to pitch Sunday and was Arizona's likely starter in San Diego, but that game was moved up to Saturday as part of a doubleheader due to the impending hurricane scheduled to make landfall in Southern California on Sunday. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Davies won't start Saturday, so the right-hander will instead make another rehab start in Reno before returning from the 15-day injured list.

Gonsolin (8-5) surrendered 10 runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out two over 3.1 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Marlins.

Both starters struggled in this contest, but Gonsolin got caught with more traffic on the bases. He gave up a total of five homers in the contest, including three for multiple runs, in his worst outing of the season. This snapped a three-game winning streak for Gonsolin as well as the Dodgers' 11-game winning streak as a team. He's now at a 4.98 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 82:40 K:BB through 103 innings over 20 starts this year. Gonsolin has alternated good and bad outings over his last five turns, but he's projected for a tough road assignment in Boston his next time out.

Alcantara (6-10) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings to earn the win Friday over the Dodgers.

Alcantara was tagged for three home runs, but they were all solo shots, and the Marlins responded with five homers of their own. Alcantara has gone at least six innings in eight straight starts, posting six quality starts and a 3-3 record in that span. The Miami ace is at a 4.11 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 141:41 K:BB through 165.1 innings over 25 starts this season. He's projected for a road outing in San Diego next week.

Pfaadt allowed a hit and three walks while striking out five over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.

Pfaadt carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up a double to Juan Soto. Despite the stellar start -- his third quality start in six outings since returning from Triple-A Reno -- the right-hander wasn't able to collect his first major-league win due to a lack of run support. Pfaadt is now at a 6.13 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 55:19 K:BB through 61.2 innings over 12 starts, though his outings have been much more convincing during his second stint in the majors. He's lined up to make his next start at home versus the Reds.

Lugo allowed five hits and three walks while striking out nine over six shutout innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Lugo had given up a combined 10 runs over his first 8.1 innings in August before his bounce-back effort Friday. This was his first scoreless outing of the season, although he held the Reds to just one unearned run June 30. The right-hander is at a 3.92 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 103:24 K:BB through 103.1 innings over 19 starts. He's projected for a home start versus the Marlins next week.
