Nick Lodolo SP | CIN
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Officially lands on IL
The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with left calf tenosynovitis.
Lodolo's stay on the IL shouldn't be much longer than the 15-day minimum, as he's already slated to pitch two games on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville and will likely make his regular-season debut when eligible in mid-April. The 26-year-old southpaw appeared in two Cactus League games this spring, surrendering one earned run over 4.2 innings while striking out five batters and walking two.

Spencer Strider SP | ATL
Braves' Spencer Strider: Atlanta-Philadelphia opener postponed
Strider and Atlanta won't face the Phillies on Thursday after the game was postponed due to forecasted rain in Philadelphia.
The season opener for both clubs has been rescheduled for Friday at 3:05 p.m. ET. Strider, who had been slated to take the hill Thursday, will presumably be bumped back one day in the schedule to go head-to-head against the Phillies' Opening Day starter, Zack Wheeler.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Mets-Brewers opener postponed
Peralta and the Brewers won't face the Mets on Thursday after the game was postponed due to rain being in the forecast at Citi Field.
The season opener for both teams will be pushed back to Friday, which had been an off day for the three-game Brewers-Mets series. Peralta will presumably be moved one day back in the schedule to start Friday's game, with the Mets set to counter with Jose Quintana.

Mets' Jose Quintana: Mets-Brewers opener postponed
Quintana and the Mets won't face the Brewers on Thursday after the game was postponed due to rain being in the forecast at Citi Field.
With heavy rain expected to hit the East Coast, the decision was made to go ahead and delay the season opener one day. Quintana will oppose the Brewers' Freddy Peralta on Friday, which had previously been a scheduled off day in the season-opening three-game series.

Kodai Senga RP | NYM
Mets' Kodai Senga: Plays catch Wednesday
Senga (shoulder) played light catch at Citi Field on Wednesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Senga began what is expected to be a six-week ramp-up process as he works his way back from a moderate posterior capsule strain in his right shoulder. The timeline suggests an early-to-mid-May return for Senga in a best-case scenario. Senga finished seventh in the National League Cy Young Award voting in his rookie season in 2023, posting a 2.98 ERA and 202:77 K:BB over 166.1 innings covering 29 starts.

Jarlin Susana SP | WAS
Nationals' Jarlin Susana: Dazzles versus big-leaguers Tuesday
Susana struck out two in a perfect eighth inning during Tuesday's exhibition game between the Nationals and the organization's top prospects.
Just a few days after his 20th birthday, Susana nearly produced an immaculate inning against big-league hitters, but after Joey Gallo and Riley Adams struck out on six pitches, Jacob Young was able to weakly ground out. Per Bobby Blanco of MASN Sports, Susana topped out at 102.4 mph with his fastball and sat around 101 mph while also working in his potentially plus slider. Part of the package the Nats received for Juan Soto from the Padres, Susana made 16 starts at Single-A Fredericksburg last season and posted a disappointing 5.55 ERA and 56:38 K:BB over 58.1 innings. Washington isn't going to give up on him working out as a starting pitcher quite yet, but if he were to shift to a relief role, the young flamethrower could climb the ladder very quickly.

Brandon Pfaadt SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt: Preps for regular season
Pfaadt allowed one run on three hits and struck out four over five innings in Tuesday's exhibition game against the Guardians.
Pfaadt made his first start since March 10, although he's pitched on the back fields between then and now. He finished spring training with a 6.75 ERA and a 6:1 K:BB over 10.2 innings. He's expected to start the fourth game of the season Sunday at home against the Rockies.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Diamondbacks' Jordan Montgomery: Reaches deal with Arizona
Montgomery agreed to terms on a one-year, $25 million contract with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Montgomery had been rumored to be in talks with the Yankees regarding a potential reunion, but he will instead join the Diamondbacks with only two days left before the start of the regular season. Adding the 31-year-old southpaw will provide the D-backs with insurance in their rotation with Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) set to miss the first several weeks of the year. Because Montgomery was without a team all offseason and therefore missed spring training, he will likely sit out the first couple of turns through the rotation but should be able to make his Diamondbacks debut within a few weeks. Montgomery's new deal also includes a vesting player option for 2025 if he starts at least 10 games this season.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Cardinals' Sonny Gray: IL move official
The Cardinals placed Gray (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
St. Louis already confirmed Gray would begin the season on the injured list, and that transaction is now official. The right-hander is scheduled to pitch in a minor-league game Thursday as he continues to ramp up his throwing program, and he could be ready to join the Cardinals' rotation in the second week of April when first eligible.
