Gasser (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Pirates, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out two.

Gasser was solid in his second big-league outing, allowing just one run in the third inning while the Brewers exploded for 10 runs in a convincing victory. The 24-year-old southpaw has allowed just one run through 11 innings in his first two starts after posting a 5.25 ERA in three outings with Triple-A Nashville. Gasser figures to stick in Milwaukee's rotation while DL Hall (knee) is sidelined. The former is currently slated for a road matchup with the Marlins in his next start.

Perez (1-3) took the loss Wednesday against the Brewers, allowing nine runs on 11 hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

All nine of Milwaukee's runs against Perez came via the home run -- the left-hander gave up a career-high five long balls after not allowing more than one in any of his first eight starts this year. It was a brutal day for the veteran left-hander, whose ERA is up to 4.86 with a 1.50 WHIP and 40:14 K:BB through 50 innings this season. Perez will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently slated for early next week at home versus San Francisco.

Rogers (1-6) earned the win Wednesday against Detroit, allowing three hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Rogers was sharp Wednesday, snapping a four-start losing streak while picking up his first win in over a calendar year. The 26-year-old left-hander had given up 12 earned runs over just 5.2 innings in his previous two outings. Rogers now sports a 5.79 ERA with a 1.76 WHIP and 37:19 K:BB across nine starts (42 innings) this season. He's currently slated for a home matchup with Milwaukee in his next start.

The Dodgers selected Hernandez's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he's starting Wednesday's game against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander signed with the Dodgers as a non-roster invitee during the offseason and will now receive his first look with the big-league club. Hernandez has covered at least five frames in each of his previous five starts at Triple-A and posted a 2.45 ERA during that stretch, but he may not last that long Wednesday with Los Angeles expected to have a bullpen game. Ryan Yarbrough and Eduardo Salazar -- who also was promoted Wednesday -- are also in the mix to see bulk innings.

Lodolo, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left groin strain, is hopeful that he'll require only a minimum-length stay on the shelf, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

The southpaw revealed that he pitched with the injury during his most recent start Saturday in San Francisco, but he was hoping to make enough progress to take his next turn during the Reds' four-game series in Los Angeles. That ultimately didn't come to pass, and the decision was made to put him on the IL. If Lodolo is able to return in the minimum 15 days, he could return to the Cincinnati rotation as soon as May 27 versus the Cardinals.

Lesko has walked more batters (23) than he has struck out (22) through 19 innings (six starts) for High-A Fort Wayne.

Things have been particularly bad for Lesko of late, as he has allowed 15 earned runs while walking 13 batters and hitting five batsmen over seven innings in his last three starts. Lesko made his return from Tommy John surgery last year and walked 11 in 12 innings for the Tin Caps, but the hope was that his control was lagging behind in his first year back from surgery. He has now walked 34 batters in 31 career innings in the Midwest League.

The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left groin strain.

It's not clear whether Lodolo was injured during his most recent start Saturday versus the Giants or sometime since then, but either way, he's going to be on the shelf at least for the next couple weeks. The left-hander has been excellent this season, posting a 3.34 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB through 35 innings over six starts. Nick Martinez would appear to be the most likely candidate to fill Lodolo's spot in the rotation, which comes up again Thursday versus the Dodgers.

Musgrove (elbow) threw a "light" bullpen session Monday, MLB.com reports.

Musgrove completed his first bullpen session since going on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation in early May. The right-hander is expected to throw another side session Wednesday, and if that goes well, he could return to the Padres rotation without needing a rehab stint. Musgrove is tracking toward making his next start during San Diego's series in Atlanta during the upcoming weekend.

The Pirates optioned Priester to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

With Paul Skenes in the fold and Bailey Falter pitching well enough to keep his rotation spot, Priester becomes the odd man out. He holds a 4.33 ERA and 17:10 K:BB over 27 innings covering five starts with the big club this season. Priester will join the Indianapolis rotation and likely will be the first to be called upon when the Pirates need a starter.

The Mets recalled Lucchesi from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

Lucchesi will make a spot start Wednesday in Philadelphia. The 30-year-old has spent all of the 2024 season with Syracuse, collecting a 2.58 ERA and 28:16 K:BB over 38.1 frames. Lucchesi makes for a poor streaming option Wednesday in a difficult matchup.
