McGowan struck out four and allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk over 3.2 innings Thursday for Double-A Reading after being reinstated from the development list.

McGowan didn't open the season as a member of Reading's roster, but that was likely just an organizational decision to manage the 24-year-old right-hander's workload. He missed the majority of the 2023 campaign while completing his recovery from April 2022 Tommy John surgery.

The Reds recalled Legumina from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for right-hander Frankie Montas (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Legumina made 11 appearances out of the Cincinnati bullpen in 2023 but has pitched exclusively for Louisville through the first month of the season, logging a 4.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB in 10 innings. He'll likely handle a low-leverage relief role while he's up with Cincinnati.

The Brewers recalled Myers from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Myers received a call-up to the majors last week and didn't make an appearance before being optioned to Nashville. This time around, Myers could fill the rotation spot vacated by Wade Miley (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day injured list but had been in line to start Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Myers holds a 1.62 ERA and 22:7 K:BB over 16.2 innings this season at Nashville. He would be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

The Rays placed Fairbanks on the 15-day injured list Monday with a nerve-related issue, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

The Rays haven't provided any further details regarding the injury at this time, but it would appear unrelated to the stomach issue that had idled Fairbanks over the weekend. A timetable for the reliever's return could become clearer in the coming days as more is known about his condition. Jason Adam should be first in line for saves in the Rays bullpen sans Fairbanks, though it's possible manager Kevin Cash uses more of a committee approach to the ninth inning.

The Rays recalled Kelly from Triple-A Durham on Monday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Kelly had been optioned to Durham on Thursday, but he'll be eligible to return to the Rays less than a week later after Tampa Bay placed closer Pete Fairbanks (nerve-related condition) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Though the loss of Fairbanks creates a vacancy at the back end of the bullpen, Kelly is more likely to work in the middle innings during his time with the big club. Kelly has previously made four relief appearances for Tampa Bay this season, giving up four earned runs on six hits and one walk over 4.2 innings.

The Mariners optioned de Geus to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Cody Bolton was technically the Mariners' 27th man during Sunday's doubleheader against the Rockies, but it will be de Geus who gets sent down to bring Seattle's active roster back down to 26 men. He allowed just one run over 3.1 innings covering four relief appearances during his time in the majors.

Lyles is likely to be away from the Royals for an extended period of time as he deals with a personal issue, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Lyles was placed on the inactive list over the weekend, and the Royals don't seem prepared to have him back in the bullpen anytime soon. After losing out on a rotation spot coming out of spring training, Lyles had been pitching well in a low-leverage relief role, tossing five scoreless innings through his first five appearances of the season.

The Royals optioned Veneziano to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Veneziano's latest stint with Kansas City lasted just two days, with the left-hander appearing in relief both Saturday and Sunday against the Orioles and allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk. The Royals called up right-hander Tyler Duffey from Triple-A to replace Veneziano in the bullpen.

The Twins selected Henriquez's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Henriquez will provide the Twins with a fresh arm out of the bullpen capable of covering multiple innings as Minnesota kicks off a four-game series with the White Sox on Monday. The 23-year-old right-hander had posted a 4.05 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 14:2 K:BB across 13.1 innings with St. Paul this season prior to his call-up.

Minnesota transferred Duarte (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction clears a spot on the Twins' 40-man roster for right-hander Ronny Henriquez, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Duarte is slated to undergo right elbow surgery in early May and will miss the rest of the season.
