Santana received a four-game suspension and fine from the league Friday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

The incident occurred during the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Tigers for "aggressive conduct toward a fan near the bullpen." The suspension was set to start Friday, but Santana has appealed the suspension and will be available out of the bullpen until the process is complete. He has a 1.72 ERA, a 0.83 WHIP, five holds and a 25:5 K:BB across 31.1 innings this season.

The Dodgers optioned Little to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

After throwing two innings in his MLB debut Thursday, Little will return to Triple-A so the Dodgers can add a fresh arm to the bullpen in Will Klein. The 27-year-old owns a 2.20 ERA and a 33:14 K:BB over 32.2 innings with Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers recalled Klein from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

Klein will make his Dodgers debut if he gets into a game, as Los Angeles acquired him via a June 2 trade and immediately optioned him to Triple-A. He's posted a 5.06 ERA and a 12:1 K:BB in six outings with Oklahoma City and will take Jack Little's spot on the active roster.

Diamondbacks Torey Lovullo told reporters Friday that Puk (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Thursday, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.

Puk was pulled from his throwing program last week after experiencing left elbow discomfort. He visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Thursday, where it was determined that Tommy John surgery is the best option for the 30-year-old southpaw. Puk will miss the rest of the 2025 season, and given the significance of the procedure, he could miss most -- if not all -- of 2026. He'll end the season with a 3.38 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and four saves across eight innings out of the bullpen.

The Mets are planning on having Montas (lat) make a start Tuesday against Atlanta, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Montas struggled at the end of his rehab assignment, allowing 13 runs in 6.2 innings over his final two starts. His difficulties prompted the Mets to consider deploying him out of the bullpen, but they'll stick with the original plan to slot him into the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Still, Montas shouldn't have a long leash if his struggles persist.

The Mets optioned Hagenman to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The Mets needed to make a move in order to promote Blade Tidwell ahead of his start Friday against the Phillies. Hagenman made his MLB debut in April but was sent back down after working 3.1 innings of bulk relief. He had the same role in Thursday's 7-1 loss to Atlanta, pitching 2.2 innings out of the bullpen, allowing zero runs on two hits and no walks while striking out one.

The Red Sox traded Penrod to the Dodgers on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Penrod was designated for assignment by Boston on Sunday, but he'll get a fresh start with the Dodgers. The 28-year-old has spent the entire 2025 campaign in the minor leagues. He's only thrown 6.1 innings at Triple-A Worcester after spending around two months on the injured list due to a UCL sprain. Penrod logged a 2.25 ERA in four big-league innings in 2024. Per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the Red Sox got cash in return.

Little allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out one batter over two innings in relief against the Padres on Thursday.

Little had his contract selected from Triple-A ahead of the contest, and he finished off the game for the Dodgers by throwing 35 pitches (23 strikes) over two frames. Both runs the right-hander allowed came in the eighth inning, when San Diego racked up four hits against him. Little had a smoother ninth frame, as the only baserunner he allowed came on a hit-by-pitch. It's not yet clear what the Dodgers' plans are for Little moving forward, but he could return to the minors in short order if the team opts to bring up a fresher arm.

Hagenman struck out one and allowed two hits and no walks in 2.2 shutout innings of relief in Thursday's 7-1 loss to Atlanta.

Though Hagenman was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse prior to Thursday's game, multiple reports suggested that the Mets were planning on saving him for Friday, when he was expected to start or work in bulk relief in the team's series opener in Philadelphia. However, after starter Clay Holmes was unable to make it out of the fifth Thursday, the Mets ended up calling upon Hagenman to eat some innings and save the rest of the bullpen from overuse. Hagenman was able to get the job done, but he could be headed back to Syracuse on Friday with the Mets now set to call up Blade Tidwell from the minors to make a spot start against the Phillies.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Casparius will "most likely" work in bulk relief behind Shohei Ohtani on Sunday against the Nationals, Matthew Moreno of DodgerBlue.com reports.

Though Ohtani made his first appearance on the mound since August 2023 in Monday's game, he wasn't fully built up and tossed 28 pitches as a one-inning opener. Casparius was the second reliever into the contest after Anthony Banda and covered 3.2 innings en route to his fifth win of the season. Ohtani should be stretched out a bit more Sunday, but Casparius once again profiles as the Dodgers pitcher most likely to qualify for a win, making him an appealing streaming option against a Nationals squad that has stumbled to a 2-15 record thus far in June.
