Ellington has accrued a 6.35 ERA across 39.2 innings this season with Miami.

After a stellar 2016, the 26-year-old right-hander has struggled mightily this year, raising his ERA by nearly four points (2.45 ERA in 2016 to 6.35 in 2017). Despite his struggles, the Marlins continue to use Ellington in occasional high-leverage situations -- he picked up a hold on Sept. 16 against Milwaukee.

Hudson currently has an ERA of 4.45 over 58.2 innings this season with the Pirates.

Hudson has been exceptional of late, earning an ERA of 2.57 in the month of September. He currently sits near the top of the Pirates' bullpen, and although he hasn't recorded a hold since Sept. 3, the right-hander should get a few more higher-leverage opportunities before the season comes to a close.

Vizcaino struck out the side during a scoreless ninth inning to convert his 12th save of the season during Thursday's win over Washington.

Vizcaino issued three bases-loaded walks in Wednesday's loss, so this was a strong bounce-back outing from the hard-throwing righty. The 26-year-old reliever now sports a 2.93 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 to go along with his 12 saves, and while Wednesday's poor showing is concerning, Vizcaino is locked in as the Atlanta closer. Saves are at a premium in September, too.

Hand struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning for his 20th save of the season against the Rockies on Thursday.

The 27-year-old is having a career year with a 2.24 ERA, 11.8 K/9 and 20 saves over 76.1 innings. Hand should be considered one of the league's better closing options heading into the 2018 season.

Iglesias allowed two runs on three hits while striking out two batters during Thursday's loss to St. Louis.

Cincinnati was a run behind when Iglesias entered Thursday's game, and it was an uncharacteristic outing from the righty. He's locked into the closer role and boasts a high-end 2.19 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 11.2 K/9 to go along with his 27 saves this season. It is worth noting that he's allowed three runs through his past two appearances, though.

Leiter was charged with three runs (one earned) on five hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday. He struck out three, issued one walk and hit a batter.

A solo homer off the bat of Curtis Granderson was the only real blemish against Leiter, who left the game in line for the win before the bullpen coughed up the lead. This was his third career quality start. He's missed bats at a decent clip since stepping into the rotation, but Leiter has had some issues with the long ball and he has a tough matchup (vs WAS) in his lone start of the season's final week.

Jansen allowed one hit and struck out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings against the Phillies on Thursday en route to his 39th save of the season.

Jansen put the tying run on base in the ninth, but that runner was quickly erased as part of a double play, and Jansen then got Nick Williams on a weak grounder to help the Dodgers avoid a series sweep. The right-hander ranks third in baseball in saves with 39 (second in NL) and has a case to be the first closer off the board in 2018 drafts.

Vizcaino issued three bases-loaded walks in the eighth inning to blow his third save of the season in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Nationals.

He threw only three of 15 pitches for strikes in an absolutely disastrous outing. He's now walked at least one batter in four straight appearances, and while Vizcaino could just be feeling fatigue after appearing in a career-high 59 games this season, his lengthy injury history raises the possibility that his sudden inability to find the plate might have a more serious cause.

Sims allowed only one run on three hits and two walks over five innings Wednesday while striking out six, but he didn't factor into the decision in a 7-3 loss to the Nationals.

He exited the game in line for his third big-league win before the Braves bullpen imploded in the top of the eighth inning. Sims' 5.14 ERA on the year with Atlanta isn't encouraging, but this performance will give him a bit of confidence heading into Monday's road doubleheader against the Mets.

Lamet was touched up for six runs on six hits with a walk and four strikeouts over 5.1 innings Wednesday. He did not receive a decision in a 13-7 loss to Arizona.

It's ironic that San Diego's offense exploded for seven runs on a day where Lamet struggled, after it provided little to no run support over his last four dominant outings (0-2 with a 1.88 ERA). Baseball can be a cruel game sometimes. The rookie has struggled against the Diamondbacks this season, serving up 15 runs and four homers over 8.1 innings. The 25-year-old can take solace in that he won't have to face them again until next season. Lamet's final 2017 start will come next Tuesday against the Dodgers, whom he held to one run over six innings with 10 punchouts Sept. 1.
