Mayers was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Mayers was sent down to make room for Greg Holland. The 26-year-old made two appearances for the Cardinals this season, allowing a run on three hits and striking out one batter over two innings. He could be back in the Cardinals' bullpen at some point this season, though it will likely be in a low-leverage role.

Weiss was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

The Reds placed a pair of regulars on the disabled list Monday, so a spot opened up for Weiss to head to Cincinnati. The right-hander has just one Triple-A inning under his belt, but he produced a 2.89 ERA to go with nine saves at Double-A Pensacola last season. He'll likely get used in low-leverage situations in the big leagues, however.

Pint left his start for Low-A Asheville on Sunday with a forearm injury, MiLB.com reports.

Pint gave up five runs (three earned) in his opening start of the season. He left with the team's trainer after recording just one out. A "forearm injury" is sometimes the vague diagnosis that precedes a much more serious issue, though there hasn't yet been word on the severity of this particular injury. Pint's big arm made him the fourth-overall pick in the 2016 draft, though he's yet to put things together as a professional, with a 5.59 ERA through 130.1 minor-league innings.

Beede is scheduled to make a spot start for the Giants, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Giants will need a fifth starter Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, as Jeff Samardzija (pectoral) will still be on the disabled list. Beede would likely only be up for one start as Samardzija is expected to be ready for his next turn in the rotation. Beede isn't a particularly exciting prospect and posted an unimpressive 4.79 ERA in 19 starts for Triple-A Sacremento last season.

Leone (0-2) failed to get an out while allowing two earned runs on two hits in a 4-1 loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

It was all downhill from the start, as Leone allowed a leadoff single to the pinch-hitting Chris Owings, who then came home on David Peralta's 403-foot home run to right center. That constituted the extent of the right-hander's outing, a stark contrast to the 2.1 scoreless frames he'd fired against the Diamondbacks in two of the first three games of the four-game set. The 26-year-old's season has been a bit of a rollercoaster thus far, as he's weaved three scoreless efforts around a pair of outings where he's been touched up for two runs apiece.

Brebbia fired a scoreless ninth inning in a 4-1 loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday, recording a strikeout.

Just recalled from Triple-A Memphis in the wake of Ryan Sherriff's placement on the disabled list with a toe injury, Brebbia got right to work. He went through his one frame on 15 pitches, looking as sharp as he often did last season while compiling a 2.44 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 51:11 K:BB over 50 appearances. Brebbia's current stay with the big-league club should last through Sherriff's DL stint at a minimum, and he naturally could carve out a more permanent role if he continues to churn out performances of similar caliber.

Cimber fired two spotless innings while striking out three in a loss to the Astros on Sunday.

The Friars' long man was excellent in this one, doubling his strikeout total to six through 4.2 innings. Cimber posted a modest 7.3 K/9 across two levels last year, so his early 11.6 K/9 in the majors doesn't seem sustainable. The 27-year-old primarily relies on pinpoint control with his slow sinker (85.8 mph), so he is unlikely to provide ratio help in his current role.

Padres manager Andy Green said Yates is dealing with right ankle tendinitis and will be evaluated Monday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Yates was removed from Saturday's game against the Astros after throwing just one pitch and experiencing pain in his ankle. Green is optimistic that the Padres won't need to call up another reliever to compensate for Yates' injury, but that plan could change if the right-hander is hurting more than anticipated once he's evaluated prior to Monday's series opener in Colorado.

Neal cleared waivers Sunday and was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

The 29-year-old made just one appearance with the Dodgers before being designated for assignment, tossing one inning and allowing a solo home run. Now that he's off the 40-man roster, he's unlikely to be at the top of the queue to return to the big leagues, and even if he does return, his career 4.94 ERA in 85.2 big-league innings doesn't make him much of a fantasy asset.

The right-hander figures to see more action this year, as the Cardinals struggle with a banged up bullpen. Mayers has been knocked around at the big-league level in just eight career appearances, accruing a 18.00 ERA.
