Reyes will shift from the bullpen to the starting rotation for Triple-A Memphis beginning with a Saturday start against Round Rock, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

One of the main objectives for Reyes down on the farm is to refine his control after he issued six free passes over just three innings with the Cardinals to start the season. Reyes has continued to scuffle some with his location since arriving in Memphis earlier this month, walking another six batters in three scoreless relief efforts. The shift to the rotation will allow the developing 24-year-old to work on his pitches outside of game action, as he's slated to throw a bullpen session between each start. Reyes is expected to be limited to 40-50 pitches Saturday and will then stretch out progressively with each subsequent start.

Strahm allowed one run on two hits while striking out five over eight innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Friday. He did not issue a walk.

The lefty served up a homer to Eugenio Suarez in the first but was masterful after that, allowing only one batter to reach (on a softly-hit infield single) over his final seven frames. Strahm completed his eight innings on just 87 pitches, 62 of which went for strikes. After a rocky 2019 debut, Strahm has now gone 18 innings with just two earned runs allowed and an 11:2 K:BB over his last three starts. He will look to keep it going next weekend in Washington.

Diaz gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning while striking out one to record his seventh save of the season in a 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Not much has gone right in the Mets' bullpen to begin the season, but the former Mariner has been as advertised in the closer role. Diaz now has a 1.17 ERA and 14:2 K:BB through 7.2 innings, and he has yet to blow a save opportunity.

Hader (0-1) took the loss Friday as the Brewers fell 5-3 to the Dodgers, walking two batters before serving up a three-run home run to Enrique Hernandez in an inning of work. He struck out three.

The relief ace entered the game in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and two outs and struck out Cody Bellinger to escape the jam, but Hader then created his own mess in the eighth. He's struck out multiple batters in seven of his eight appearances, leading to a dominant 21:4 K:BB in 11 innings, but this outing ballooned his ERA to 3.27.

Jansen got the save against the Brewers on Friday, retiring the side on 12 pitches to preserve a 5-3 victory for the Dodgers. He recorded one strikeout.

The righty is racking up the saves at the moment, as this was the third day in a row he's successfully converted one. He now has seven saves on the season, to go along with a 2.61 ERA, a 0.87 WHIP and 13 strikeouts over 10.1 innings.

Strop retired the final two batters of Friday's 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks to earn the save.

Brad Brach started the inning for the Cubs but ran into trouble by allowing two singles and a double, which prompted Joe Maddon to call on Strop to put out the fire. The 33-year-old reliever now has two saves this season along with a 3.18 ERA. Strop should remain the team's closer at least until Brandon Morrow (elbow) returns, which could happen sometime next month.

Melancon is expected to get some chances in save situations this season, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

While the Giants' primary closer remains Will Smith, manager Bruce Bochy noted that Melancon could get some chances in the ninth inning as the season unfolds. He's been stellar for the Giants in a setup role so far in 2019 and has yet to allow a run over 10 innings of work.

Mayers will be sidelined for a few months with a lat injury, though he won't require surgery, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Mayers had a 5.40 ERA in 8.1 innings prior to suffering the lat strain. It's not clear exactly when the Cardinals expect him back, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him moved to the 60-day injured list at some point.

Hart was recalled from Triple-A San Antonio on Friday.

Hart was picked up by Milwaukee at the beginning of April and immediately sent to the minors, where he posted a 6.00 ERA with four punchouts over three innings. Although his numbers haven't been impressive while with the Missions, he'll aim to provide the Brewers with some much-needed depth out of the bullpen during his time in the big leagues.

Williams was placed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right AC joint Friday, Byron Kerr of MASN Sports reports.

It's unclear how much time Williams is expected to miss. His ERA sits at 162.00 after he allowed six runs over two appearances while recording just one out. Austin Adams was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.
